Yeah I'm pumped for the world cup. It's gonna be a good month for soccer!

More information on the television package should be out on Monday, but MLS and USSF have basically finalized the deal for 2015 and after (for however many years).

Currently, MLS (and USSF) get around $27 million per year from ESPN, NBC Sports, and Univision. The new deal could be worth $70 million per year from ESPN, Fox, and Univision.

I still can't believe Liverpool blew the Premier League. What a fucking choke.

I can't stop laughing about it. I love all the meme's about it. They even had fans with tshirts and jerseys showing 2014 premier league champions.

Wow...8 year and $600 million deal from ESPN, Fox, and Univision for USSF and MLS.

Not a bad upgrade -- from $27 million per year to $75 million per year.

Hope they show most if not all the games like NBC has done with the EPL. Can't get enough soccer. The MLS really needs this exposure.

I'm still fucked for Crew games, though.

I have Direct TV and TW internet, meaning I don't get ESPN 3, nor do I get TWCSN. Fuck Mccullers.

    USMNT preliminary 30-man roster:

Goalkeepers: Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), Tim Howard (Everton), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake)
Defenders: DaMarcus Beasley (Puebla), Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City), John Brooks (Hertha Berlin), Geoff Cameron (Stoke City), Timmy Chandler (Nürnberg), Brad Evans (Seattle Sounders FC), Omar Gonzalez (LA Galaxy), Clarence Goodson (San Jose Earthquakes), Fabian Johnson (Hoffenheim), Michael Parkhurst (Columbus Crew), DeAndre Yedlin (Seattle Sounders FC)
Midfielders: Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Alejandro Bedoya (Nantes), Michael Bradley (Toronto FC), Joe Corona (Club Tijuana), Brad Davis (Houston Dynamo), Mix Diskerud (Rosenborg), Maurice Edu (Philadelphia Union), Julian Green (Bayern Munich), Jermaine Jones (Besiktas), Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City)
Forwards: Jozy Altidore (Sunderland), Terrence Boyd (Rapid Vienna), Clint Dempsey (Seattle Sounders FC), Landon Donovan (LA Galaxy), Aron Johannsson (AZ Alkmaar), Chris Wondolowski (San Jose Earthquakes)

    Thoughts?

Here's a couple of mine: bummed no Hercules Gomez (I like him, but know he's been slowed by injuries), not really thrilled with inclusion of Maurice Edu, I really really really wish we'd quit hanging on to 2 over-the-hill goalkeepers (whether that is Rimando, Guzan, Hahnemann, etc.) and bring in a goalkeeper of the future (Cody Cropper) for some experience. Either way it happens, most of the time the #2 or #3 GK doesn't play...so give them the experience of being at the biggest stage. I'm not all that surprised EJ and Kljestan didn't make it. Some are bummed there's no Tim Ream.

All in all, 15 of the 30 are MLSers.

Happy to see Green and Yedlin on the list. Should be good to get them experience leading up to the WC, even if they're not on the final roster. Those are the guys (along with Johannsson) will form the core of our national team for the next 12 years if they keep on the path they're on.

    No Kljestan...thank you!!

What happened to Brek Shea. I was a huge fan of his early on. Did he fall off?

Yes! Glad you brought up Yedlin, I forgot to include him on my initial thoughts. I'm a fan...glad to see him there too.

Not disappointed in Kljestan either. Brek has fallen off, the move to England hasn't been so favorable for him (out of Stoke's first team, went to Barnsley and hasn't done anything there).

Guzan will head the USMNT for the next 4 years, at least. Why are we mad he is on the team??

No one is mad, I just prefer getting a younger goalkeeper on the team and experience. It's nothing against Guzan, just don't believe the 2nd and 3rd goalkeepers will get any minutes in Brazil. So, I wouldn't have minded if it was Guzan and another younger GK or Rimando and another younger GK.

Heck, I'm not even sure Guzan will be the #1 goalkeeper after Brazil. Tally Hall, Bill Hamid, Sean Johnson, and Cody Cropper have just as good odds in being #1 as any other goalkeeper.

Guzan is going to be the US #1 for the next 4-6 years.

Ok...I'm still saying that a younger GK needs the experience more than an older GK who won't see the time. Rimando is 1 year younger than Timmy Howard, he may actually be the #2 guy for Klinsmann (I really don't know who he'd choose). I really would take another younger GK over the age and sentiment that it may be for Rimando (or Guzan).

A lot of things can happen in the next 4-6 years...not ready to give the reigns over to Guzan yet. Heck, even Hall, Hamid, Johnson, or Cropper may not be in the picture in that time span.

A GK prime is 30-36ish. Guzan is our #2. Pretty sure Klinsman has already stated he is gonna ride Howard this WC and then Guzan is going to take over. It's been a plan for about 4 years, maybe more. I don't understand why anyone wouldn't want our #1 and #2 on the roster. RC or injury would kill the USMNT if Howard went out and we didn't have Guzan.

I can see wanting a younger guy as the #3, but definitely want the 2nd best as our #2 on the roster. Regardless of age.

No doubt we'd want our 2nd best as #2, no one said otherwise.

I'm just saying that I'd rather have some youth getting the experience IF they'll be the next one in line. So, if Guzan is #2, take him and leave Rimando in favor of younger talent. If Rimando is #2, then I really would take younger talent if Guzan hasn't surpassed Rimando by now.

I see what youre saying, but Guzan is #2.

Guzan is the best keeper on the roster.

Eric Wynalda calling for Ramsey to come off minutes before his goal is hilarious. Fuck that guy.

He also called Ramsey an Englishman. Glad he's got a mic...

Well van Gaal named United manager. I'm still kinda leery on him as he's had a lot of run-ins everywhere he goes. But he's a proven winner, something moyes was not.

Also sad that Giggsy has retired. But I'm glad they are keeping him as an assistant so he can possibly take over when van Gaal leaves.

Also if anyone wants a Ronaldo Real Madrid 2013/2014 white jersey. I have one for sale $22 shipped. It's a really good knock off just trying to recoup the money I spent on it. Size Large.
