Brandon weeden a Super Bowl QB? I need me some of that DC weed you smokin.
If he played for the Seahawks, no doubt. The Seahawks did not win because of Russel Wilson; their defense and their running game were the best in the league.

That logic is so beyond flawed. Just because they didn't win because of Russell Wilson doesn't mean they can win with any QB in the league. Lol sleeper loses!

It's about as flawed as the logic that drafted a QB #4 overall instantly makes the team a Super Bowl contender. Please tell that Russel Wilson on the Browns would make any difference at all; it wouldn't.

So you think drafting a LB at #4 and relying on Hoyer gets them closer to a Super Bowl? LOL! Also, the Seahawks didn't build that defense by drafting LB'ers in the first round. The drafted Irvin who had only 40tkls and 2 sacks. They have only 2 first round picks on that D.

I think drafting a LB at #4 is the best step towards building a super bowl contending team using the Seattle Seahawks, THE REIGNING SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS, model for achieving NFL success. Apparently, the Browns fans on this forum would prefer the method used by the New York Jets or Miami Dolphins which is decades of losing games with crappy QBs drafted in the first round. I have provided the evidence necessary to back up my claims. Please tell me how many QBs drafted in the top 10 over the past decade + that have BEEN TO A SUPER BOWL. I provided the list earlier and am still waiting for an explanation on how Manizel or Bridgewater is any different than the clowns on that list. I await your response.

And if you need a more personal model, how'd Quinn, Couch, and Weeden work out for the Browns? Remember, these QBs were HIGHLY TOUTED coming out of college and were huge game changers; do I need to post the definition of INSANITY for you?

So what you're saying is no team should ever draft a QB in the top 10?

Apparently LB is the most important position on a football team. He likes to talk about the Seahawks, but fails to realize they've drafted only 2 of their starting defense in the 1st round, and Earl Thomas was the highest at like #14. Nobody in any NFL front office would advise choosing a LB over a QB(the most important position in football).

If its Peyton Manning or Andrew Luck, then yes.

    LB. CB. DE. GO DEFENSE.

    So every 10-15 years.

Exactly. Otherwise the risk-adjusted method is to take a 3rd or later round QB and hope they turn into the next Tom Brady or Russel Wilson.

Until we get a QB that this franchise can lean on, then everything we do is mute. This years draft has 3 QB's that talent evaluators love. That doesn't happen too often in the draft. With that said, We are only a few pieces away from being contenders. One of those is QB. If one of those QB's are there at 4, you take them. Plain and simple.

Your logic is "don't draft an unproven QB at 4, that's silly" but then, in the same breathe say "draft an unproven LB at 4!" I'm sorry but that is the dumbest logic ever. LB isn't even our top 2 biggest needs, and you want to waste a top 5 pick on that?

Did classyposter hijack your account? Because literally everyone on this thread is disagreeing with everything you have said regarding this draft.

Browns were apparently close to trading draft picks for John harbraugh

Funny thing is, he cites the Seahawks, who, in no way, shape or form built their defense by drafting defensive players high in the draft.

Saw that, but I tend to lean toward this being the truth. It would make zero sense for the Niners to trade Harbaugh.

Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet 42m In response to @ProFootballTalk report on #Browns nearly trading for Jim Harbaugh, #Niners source calls it “completely false. Ridiculous.”
  • Lovejoy1984
I find it hard to believe as well, especially after how successful they were at hiring head coaches prior to Harbaughs arrival.
  • Lovejoy1984
I still tend to agree with Sleeper on his stance on the QB's as none of them really blow me way, nor do I feel we have to walk away with a QB early in this draft.

I'd be perfectly content with them taking a QB in the 2nd/3rd round who is the right fit, and fill some other holes on the team, rather then them taking the leftovers at the QB position.

I don't think Farmer will take a QB just for the sake of taking a QB. If he don't like what he has to pick from at #4, I can see him going a different direction, but if the QB you like is there, but you don't take him, that's just stupid.

Agree with you, have said it many times. Zero in on your guy at QB, then rank everyone else in the draft. If your guy is gone, move on to the top of the list of everyone else.

If a QB is your 2nd/3rd/4th BPA, maybe pull you the trigger, but if you've ranked 5+ prospects ahead of your next best QB, take Clowney, Matthews, Robinson, Watkins, and make one aspect of your team absolutely dominant.

LOL...Niners CEO puts Florio on blast.

LOL, whats funny, is that doesn't disprove anything at all.

    Because Teams NEVER lie.

They have way more to lose lying in this situation, than telling the truth. Why lie about something so trivial that has no bearing on anything? If true, they could just simply say that the Browns offered and they declined.

OTOH, Florio NEVER cites "sources" as a synonym for making something up.
