so do we have anyone else left in the bullpen? not like it matters, fielder is going to hit one over the scoreboard.

He is a smart old player....but it makes me wonder. He was a .275 career hitter so it's not like he was nowhere near and a few years he was close.

Great athlete.....his kid playing at ND this fall?

He talked about this in an interview. Basically said Minnesota put him in the 3-4 spot and wanted him to pull the ball a lot and swing for the fences. He was moved out of that role with LA recently and now Detroit and he can swing as he wants now

How the fuck was that a strike
  • Ironman92
    Throw that pitch 3 times

I believe you....but the same organization that has Mauer and Morneau and they wanted him to pull everything and swing for fences? I'd be more inclined to believe that he batted there and FELT as if he should (hi Brandon Phillips)....then went to LA and they said STOP IT and hit it where it's pitched, and he likes the results.

i'd be happy if can just end the year with a winning record.

Well Tito....you choose to slug it out with a team that has better hitters you are going to lose every time. I'm just spitting furious. We only needed one run and we had Bourn/Stubbs combo up twice. Guys are swinging at shitty pitches with 2-0 counts and one of the fastest runners in the league doesn't attempt to steal against a catcher with a 20% throw out ratio.

I can't come up with 1 reason not to send Stubbs there.

Just saying that's what he said. Scary thing is he could have had some seasons of .330+ hitting had he always been like this

Always thought he underperformed offensively and was a touch overrated defensively (though was very very good...played balls into highlights like Edmonds)

This has been such a deflating series.
