Is Flacco "Elite"?

Joe Flacco is still a pig.

I mean Rodgers, Brady and Brees are clearly top 5...regardless of your preference. It's foolish to say otherwise. The other 2 spots you can go many directions depending on preference.

If you're ranking them RIGHT NOW, it's hard to say Flacco, despite winning a Super Bowl.

If you're ranking them for career accomplishments, Ben, Eli and Peyton are the other 3 choices for top 5, clearly.

Merrill is the dumbest fucking fuck on espn regarding the nfl.
  • Mulva
If Eli is elite, Flacco is too. But neither of them are.
  • Azubuike24
I agree, although I'm an Eli fan.

I just find it hilarious that because Flacco is the flavor of the week, he's #1 overall and Eli, with 2 rings, wouldn't be in his top 5.

There's just a lot of damn good quarterback play in the NFL today. Kaepernick and Flocco were on the money most of the game making big time throws all over the field.

This, and I'm pretty sure you could have thrown another fuck in that sentence for good measure.

I think some people are starting to make the "elite QB list" too big therefore voiding the whole list.

Flacco had a great post-season run, but I want to see some consistency out of him.

When I think of elite QB's I think it's Brady, Peyton, Rodgers and Brees.

I give Brees a pass this year because of the suspension. Eli Manning isn't elite as he just misses the playoffs too often. For everyone that wants to knock Peyton for his mediocre at best play-off record, at least he is pretty much a lock to be there unlike his little brother.

Rodgers is just disgustingly good the past few seasons.

I don't think Big Ben is an elite QB, I put him in just above Eli. I think Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco are about even, possibly elite someday, but a solid no for right now.

Kaepernick, I want to see more out of him before declaring elite, same with other guys like Wilson, RGIII and Luck. Those four all have bright futures if they can stay healthy and continue to progress.

Flacco has won in the playoffs EVERY SINGLE YEAR he has been in the league. Ill take him over the bum Manning. Throw for as many yards and TDs as you want. I want a QB who doesnt choke during the clutch and wins when it really matters. And plz nobody say the defense carried Flacco. Baltimore ranked #17 in total defense this year.

Big Ben and Eli are not elite.

If the Denver safety intercepts Flacco's Hail Mary the way 99.9% of safeties would do on that wounded duck, there wouldn't be these nonsensical threads.
  • cat_lover
I can't put him in the top 4. I have no problem putting him in the 5 to 8 group.

And if my aunt had a dick she'd be my uncle.

Speaking of nonsensical threads, how about your Breowns and playoffs HOFer?

Are you saying Eli and Ben aren't clutch and don't win when it matters?

    Epic lulz on this thread.

I avoid sports talk radio, so my opinion is not an extension of my favorite radio host.

Here is my order in which I'd pick for 1 season to play on my team (2014)

    1) Manning
    2) Brady
    3) Brees
    4) Rogers
    5) Big Ben
    6) RG III
    7) Russell Wilson
    8) Tony Romo
    9) Eli Manning
    10) Matt Ryan
    11) Joe Flacco
    12) Jay Cutler
    13) Andrew Luck
    14) Matthew Stafford
    15) Colin Kapernick
    16) Matt Shaub
    17) Cam Newton
    18) Andy Dalton
    19) Michael Vick

    The rest are terrible.

Lol. Flacco has a 0% chance to win more superbowls than either of them and odds are he won't even win one more.

Thanks for the input, Nostradamus. I never claimed either. Glad you know the future, though.

How the hell is Romo so high on your list?

QB's I'd take ahead of Romo:

    Brady
    Rodgers
    Manning (Peyton)
    Brees
    Manning (Eli)
    Big Ben
    Joe Flacco
    Matt Ryan
    Matt Schaub

And I'd take Andy Dalton, Kaepernick, WIlson, RGIII, Luck and Stafford ahead of him as well just because they are younger and have more upside.

I'd put Rivers, Romo and Cutler in the same category.

Flacco already has more playoff wins than Eli in his career. 0% is a pretty low number.

I can't put my finger exactly on what it is I like so much about Romo. I just think he is very talented.

I was going to reply with retorts, but decided to post a list instead.
    1. Brady -Elite
    2. Rogers -Elite
    3. Brees -Elite
    4. P Manning – Age is only drawback
    5. Matt Ryan – Not sure if plateaued
    6. Eli Manning - Inconsistent
    7. Andrew Luck – Real Deal
    8. Matt Shaub – Gets it done
    9. Joe Flacco – Career post season
    10. Rapeburger – Age, Mobility with injuries
    11. Russell Wilson - Impressive
    12. RG3 – Could see playing less than 8 games next year
    13. Tony Romo – Big stats, big mistakes
    14. Phil Rivers – Whines a lot
    15. Matthew Stafford – average starter

I'll take Flacco anyday. The dude is a winner.
Luck...lol....talk to me when he wins the AFC championship game. He'll get there someday I think....but now?
might be a case of diminishing skills for Peyton....he made some pretty piss poor decisions in the division game.
    Same for Rothlisberger.

Eli has 2 superbowls. And yes, the ravens have a 0% of winning 2 more. Won't happen.

There are too many if's in this sentence.

If Lee Evans makes the catch in last years conference title game, there is a chance that the Ravens are back to back SB champs...
