That stat is very misleading. He's put up some incredible numbers in a lot of those games but his team's defense has always been AWFULIggyPride00;1470247 wrote:That is what the Detroit Lions paid $43.5 Million in guaranteed money for.
Every NFL player should be on the phone with whoever his agent is right now. -
Heretic
Well, in 2011, he put up great numbers. In 2012, his stats were pretty mediocre overall (TD/INT ratio and the like). A notable decline from '11, at least.ohiobucks1;1470260 wrote:That stat is very misleading. He's put up some incredible numbers in a lot of those games but his team's defense has always been AWFUL -

AutomatikWow, morons.
I always took Maurkice for an intelligent guy. I was mistaken. -
MulvaVon Miller suspended 4 games. He's appealing.

I think he will end up still being suspended. Good thing for the Broncos is their first 4 games really aren't that bad.Mulva;1476706 wrote:Von Miller suspended 4 games. He's appealing. -

Not surprised by Joe GOAThomas, but lolfail on Wilson being ranked so high.
Not a beliver in him, ppl forget that they were discussing benching him in Oct for Matt Fynn. Soph slump, can't teach height and his GF gif from the draft. Nuff said.
Much rather have Cam Newton, Caepernick, Luck, RG3 (just including young QBs). What say you guys? -

Completely disagree. Been following Wilson since his stud freshman year at NC State. He's really talented. Much prefer him to Cam Newton. But would I take him over Caep, Luck, or RG3? Hard to say but probably not.Commander of Awesome;1478059 wrote:What say you guys? -

Too early to tell but damn R Wilson was very impressive and poised last year, natural leader.Commander of Awesome;1478059 wrote:http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/9498600/bill-barnwell-ranks-top-assets-nfl

AutomatikBig fan of Wilson and the Seahawks in general. Other than my squad, they are my fav to watch.
Wilson played with brass balls as a rookie...gotta give props to that. Cam over him? Not a chance in hell. He's weakminded. -

Seemed to really turn it on after they discussed benching him. I'm still not a believer. No doubt he had a hell of a season though.
I noted Cam because he's high on the list, and I think he's more naturally talented than Wilson. He doesn't seem to the leader that Wilson is, but I'd still rather him be the QB of my franchise. He has the body type to stand up to the beating and I think he's more gifted. Whether or not he uses his talents remains to be seen.Automatik;1478064 wrote:Big fan of Wilson and the Seahawks in general. Other than my squad, they are my fav to watch.

AutomatikI agree, definitely more talented and a freak athlete. I just don't see him "taking the next step" to being truly elite. I don't think he has the mind for it and obviously the franchise he plays for is subpar.
I just saw that SI has their early power rankings out.
Baltimore #1? C'mon man.

What is going to be interesting is how DCoords and the league adapts to the read-option to try and stop Kap, Wilson, RG, ETC. Some talking head said that NFL teams should go scout HS and colleges and see what they do to stop it. I kinda laughed at that because for the most part teams just out-athlete the other in college and HS and that is how it gets stopped and not necessarily on the scheme. But anyways....it depends on what defenses can do to slow it down. Those guys don't seem to run it a lot, but it something in their arsenal. The ill fated wildcat didn't last long, and I didn't think it would either because when you take away the threat of throwing the ball it makes it easy to stop.Commander of Awesome;1478059 wrote:http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/9498600/bill-barnwell-ranks-top-assets-nfl

I've always been a fan of Wilson but Grantland always gives him way to much love. I mean I'd take him over all the other young guys except for Luck.Commander of Awesome;1478059 wrote:http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/9498600/bill-barnwell-ranks-top-assets-nfl

I disagreed with a lot more in the list than I normally do. AP at 30 is an absolute joke he should easily be top 10. Also feel like they have Brady(not surprised with Simmons) a little high. And then Eli and Flacco are way to high.
Mel Kiper has a pretty decent list for the top 25 players who will be younger than 25 at the start of week 1. Only one I really didn't understand is how he had Cobb ahead of Dez Bryant. -

Also just realized this article was written by Michael Lombardi, http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000068601/article/seattle-seahawks-should-sit-russell-wilson-and-play-matt-flynn
Glad he's not the gm....errrr oh wait. -
IliketurtlesHaha it's not a homer pick I'd feel that way even if I wasn't a Cowboys fan. If I wanted to be a homer I'd say he was better than Julio Jones .
Lol at that Lombardi article. -

You do understand the premise of the list, right? It's just just about skills, seems to be a lot more about contract than skills.Iliketurtles;1478091 wrote: I disagreed with a lot more in the list than I normally do.
That being said, I don't really get the point of making a NFL trade value list. In NBA, where big name players are moved more often, it kinda makes sense. In the NFL? No. -
Iliketurtles
Yes I understand the premise. It just seemed like to me a few guys(QBs) who were overvalued when looking at their skills/contract/years left to play. And I really feel like they undervalued guys based on their position.lhslep134;1478128 wrote:You do understand the premise of the list, right? But I completely agree with you that this piece really has no value anyway since players especially big name ones aren't traded often. -
lhslep134
I found that funny. Beginning of the article under the "how the rankings are determined" box it mentioned that one of the metrics speaks to the quality of depth at that position, then fails to mention it except for maybe under Joe GOATmas.Iliketurtles;1478147 wrote: And I really feel like they undervalued guys based on their position.
I'd rather see Barnwell do an NFL Rank, not trade value.
