Week 16 - AFC Championship Preview: Oakland Raiders @ Cleveland Browns

  • iclfan2
Haha I wish I could have heard the conversation between DA and Frye at midfield. They prbably both bitched about being in Cleveland.
  • Sage
Also, the Browns have won 3 straight.

Let the Mangini haters hate. We're #ONTHATGRIND

Frye- What's up Derek? Still in Shitville, I see!

DA- Dude... You don't even KNOW! All these bitches say here is "Brady, Brady, Brady". Yes, I get it, he's hot... But he doesn't have size 16 feet... If ya know what I'm sayin'!

Frye- I don't get it. Trash stache, engage!

DA- So, you guys hiring? I mean, I know that black guy has a strong arm, but he may be worse than me...

Frye- Yeah dude, Oakland LOVES old Cleveland QB's. It's like when Denver picked up all of those horrible Browns defensive lineman and made them pretty good. Only, we still suck in Oakland..... But at least it's warm there, and Al Davis sometimes gets hopped up on sleeping pills and climbs in your bed with you!

    DA- I'm totally in.

We got a win against a Pittsburgh team that's missing half of their defense, the Chiefs, and the Raiders.

    Yep... CHAMPIONSHIP!

He's also the only receiving threat we really have, which makes what he's done as a ROOKIE even more impressive.
-Mo Mass is inconsistent catching the ball. He was at Georgia, and he has shown it this year.

-He's not physical... at all. He just watches the ball go near him, instead of making an adjustment, and trying to catch it. Ridiculous.

-He's ran so many bad routes it's ridiculous. It's because he's honestly not very smart, and has trouble remembering the plays and picking up the offense.

He's got potential... Yes. But he's no better than a #2, and that's pushing it.

If we switch to the WCO, he's screwed because he's not a guy that can catch the ball in traffic, over the middle.
    LOL, no.

    Not counting todays game

549 yards as a rookie with NO legit QB and no legit help on the other side..

Please take your MoMass hate elsewhere.. Or maybe you should go blog about it.

You act as if our team was some sort of world beater before playing these teams? Didn't KC just beat Pittsburgh as well?

Doesn't Oakland own wins over Pitt, Cincy, and Denver?

    As I stated on Facebook.....

The 2009 Cleveland Browns = Greatest 4-11 Team Of All Time.

I forgot that 550 yards in a season was great for a #1 receiver.

    My bad.

I'll be here next year to say I told you so.

You know, Tampa Bay just beat New Orleans, they are elite too, right?

    Terrible logic.

Anyone who has made up their mind about a first year receiver in the NFL is a fool.

Receivers often take more than a year to find their way in the league, and turn out to be very productive players.

I'm betting Mo Mass will be in this category before all is said and done.

Is he a No. 1 receiver? I don't know. Probably not. But I think he'll end up being a very productive No. 2 and Robiskie will be fine in the slot. They need to sign a top receiver in free agency if one becomes available.

WR's usually take 3 years. Everybody knows the 3rd year is the magic year with WR's..

WOW! Way to miss the point.

You made the point that the Browns are beating these "scrub" teams.. I merely stated that these "scrub" teams have some quality wins and it's not exactly a cake walk in beating them!

I'm not saying that he's terrible. I said he has a lot of potential.

I'm saying don't be blinded by 550 yards by a rookie. I mean, he's the only receiver other than Evan Moore that we have to throw to.

He's just not talented enough to be a #1 receiver, even if we had a great QB. I think he may be able to be a solid #2, but that's best.

I have not made my mind up, because I'd be a hypocrite to call somebody a bust or anything after 1 season, considering I keep trying to convince half of these idiots that Quinn has barely had a full season of starting.

I'm just saying that he's got A LOT of growing up to do. He needs to learn the offense, stop running terrible routes, make plays on the ball and catch the ball consistently.

No team in the NFL is a cake walk when your team has the talent of a 12 loss team. So what's your point?

Just because we beat teams who beat average teams doesn't make us any better.

Were we better than the Giants last year when we blew them out on MNF?
  • Mr. 300
Time to start getting rid of all those draft picks in the upcoming draft. This team just needed time to gel.
  • royal_k
This team is clearly better than they were earlier in the season. I don't care who was on the schedule at what time of the season. I don't care if they beat 4 zero win teams. They are obviously coming together as a team and buying into Mangini's system. I want to see him get another year. I think it would be a huge step back if he is fired after the season.

I also believe Mo Mass will turn out to be a very good number 2. He needs to be more consistant, but he is a ROOKIE.
  • hoops23
Watch it royal, a rookie WR should get 1,200 yards and 10 TD's easily...

Even if he is the ONLY receiving threat. smh...

That's funny because I definitely said that... Oh wait, no I didn't.

I'd be more satisfied if he'd actually try to go for balls thrown perfectly to him. Or if he ran the right routes. Or if he didn't

Like I said, he can be a very solid #2, but any of you thinking that he's going to be a true #1 receiver are in over your heads.

I mean the guy has 30 catches in 76 balls thrown his way... Sure some of those are on the QB, but quite a few of those are because he dropped them, or he ran the wrong route, or even worse, didn't go up for the ball. It's ridiculous.

I'm personally hoping that he'll develop into a #1 receiver, but right now, he looks no better than a decent #2.
  • THE4RINGZ
If the browns can continue to build on the past three weeks and get a quality draft pick, maybe settle on a QB (I don't see either one of the current QB's working in Holgrums west coast style O) they will be dangerous in the next few years.

I think MoMass turns into a solid #1 reciever, their backs are young and dangerous.

The D is solid especially when the starters return.

All this coming from a life long Steelers fan.
  • DaBrowns41
Not to mention, Mo Mass ranks among some of the leagues worst in blocking, which is not a HUGE deal, but down field blocking is a big part of the running game, especially with a guy like JH who can break them into the defensive secondary.
  • slingshot4ever
Great win for the Browns today! Bring on the Jaguars.
  • Hesston
Another fun game to watch, did it earn Mangini another year?
  • ZombieKiller
I don't think beating the Raiders and Chiefs should earn him another year.
  • royal_k
It's not just beating the Raiders and Chiefs. It's the big picture. The team has improved and is playing much better with minimal talent. IMO if this team played like they are right now all season, they would have many more wins. We had no running game the first 10 games and a bad right side OL for most of the season. It's obvious to me the players have bought into Mangini's ways and have really busted their butts to get better.
