The end of the KO in the NFL

It happens so fast that I don't think it should be a penalty. He didn't target the head and he was the second hit.WebFire;1337855 wrote:Correction...shouldn't be a penalty. But in the NFL, anytime helmets touch, they call it. I hate the NFL. -

LOL wtf? Coleman CLEARLY hits Collie w/ his helmet to Collie's helmet. That's absolutely a flagWebFire;1337854 wrote:Their helmets touched incidentally. Not a penalty. -
WebFireDoes anyone find it ironic that this rule was actually first introduced by a guy who tells his Dline to crash the other team on victory formation?

He didn't target the head, AT ALL. The only reason they hit helmet-to-helmet was because the other defender hit him MILLISECONDS before he did. Yeah, should have just stopped in those milliseconds. Give me a break.WebFire;1337863 wrote:GTFO -

Yeah, he was pushing for it right before he left Rutgers.SportsAndLady;1337864 wrote:Schiano? -

No seriously, how can you not say that was h2h? Coleman (who by the way, is one of my least favorite players in the NFL, despite being a Buckeye) comes in and hits Collie in the helmet, with his helmet lol literally definition helmet to helmet hit.WebFire;1337863 wrote:GTFO -

Oh yeah that's right I forgot about that. With the Legrand incident, can't really blame him.WebFire;1337866 wrote:Yeah, he was pushing for it right before he left Rutgers. -

Gblockif they really wanted to cut down on huge hits they should widen the field by about 5 yards
-
WebFireIf it is intentional, then it' a penalty every time. But that rule has been around forever, which people for some reason forget. When I played it was called spearing.

You're seriously saying it shouldn't be helmet to helmet because the helmet to helmet was incidental?

LOL. So every time helmets touch it should be a penalty. That would be every damn play. Do you seriously not understand the difference?SportsAndLady;1337882 wrote:So what?

Uhh not every time helmets touch, but when a WR goes up for a catch, he's in a defenseless position...if a defensive player hits him helmet to helmet, it's a flag. Literally every time. Doesn't matter if it was incidental or not. Do you watch the NFL?WebFire;1337884 wrote:LOL. So every time helmets touch it should be a penalty. That would be every damn play. I am not denying anything you said there. If you are paying attention, which you clearly aren't, I am saying I don't think it should be a penalty if it's incidental. If it is intentional, it should be. This is the way it has always been.SportsAndLady;1337886 wrote:Uhh not every time helmets touch, but when a WR goes up for a catch, he's in a defenseless position...if a defensive player hits him helmet to helmet, it's a flag. I feel they call way too many that they shouldn't. And this, IMO, is one that should not have been called. He did not intend to hit helmet-to-helmet, not could he have prevented, other than not being there at all.
Do you understand what I am explaining now? -
WebFireNow, back to kickoffs. If they want to eliminate the kickoff, why not just give the ball to the other team at the 20 or whatever yard line they deem appropriate. This rule would absolutely change the way the game is played/coached. That I don't like.

So freakin put "in my opinion" after you keep saying "it shouldn't be a penalty"WebFire;1337895 wrote:I am not denying anything you said there. I'm not arguing your opinion, I'm arguing the rule..which obviously is where the difference lies here.
How are refs supposed to just decide in a few seconds whether a hit was incidental or not? That's almost impossible to do. -

You two are on different pages. S&L is thinking that Webfire doesn't understand the rule. I believe he does, he is stating his opinion that he doesn't agree with the rule.WebFire;1337895 wrote:I am not denying anything you said there.
