So... what do the Browns do with the #1 pick next year?
-
TiernanMark Sanchez will prolly be available and the Jets should have the no. 4 or 5 spot. Pull the trigger now Holmsy.

Commander of AwesomeLOLZ. I'd rather play without a QB than play with Sanchez.

My thoughts are that the Jets might be picking fairly high and QB is a definite need for them. We don't want Sanchez though.Tiernan;1291163 wrote:Mark Sanchez will prolly be available and the Jets should have the no. 4 or 5 spot. Pull the trigger now Holmsy. -

Well maybe they could get Timmy Terrific & Mangold plus the #4 or #5 pick for the no. 1 pick. I see this as a win / win for two of my favorite teams.BR1986FB;1291170 wrote:My thoughts are that the Jets might be picking fairly high and QB is a definite need for them. We don't want Sanchez though. -

So you think Blackmon, Claiborne, and Barron will have the same impact in this league as Luck, RGIII, and Richardson? I tend to believe there are usually 2-3 can't miss guys in a given draft, and trading out of the top 1-4 spots in the draft gets you to the second tier of players. Of course you'll always have players that outperform their draft spot, but they're few and far between.like_that;1291090 wrote:If you can trade down within the top 5-7 you do it. In the 2011 draft alone, #4 AJ Green, #5 Patrick Peterson, #6 Julio Jones, #7 Aldon Smith, #11 JJ Watt, #16 Ryan Kerrigan...all studs and that's as far down as #16. That's a very small sample size (I could find more). I get the mindset behind what you're thinking but a good GM will find stars all over the draft. -

Hopefully we get to see and rg3 doesn't end up in a wheelchair. He'll soon learn it's better to step out of bounds and not try cutting up the line for a few more yards. (IMO)like_that;1290994 wrote:Luck will easily have the better career.
Plain and simple Vick is an idiot and can't read a defense. I believe rg3 reads defenses and is smarter than some of the most recent scrambling qb's.
Daniel Snyder comes across like a D-bag but at least he's willing to spend the big bucks.se-alum;1290999 wrote:I fully expect, barring injury, for Luck to at least be in the "best ever" conversation when his career is over.
Redskins seem to be closer to a playoff caliber team than the Colts. -

Oh, I know, I'm saying there are usually only a couple players that are virtual locks to be very good NFL players in a given year. You can definitely get good players at other picks, but it becomes more of a gamble. I always thought Green and Peterson were locks to be great NFL players in that draft. I was high on Watt and Kerrigan too, but wasn't sure they would be as good as they are. I'm just sayin' that your odds of getting a future great player, get smaller the later you get in the draft. Of course it COULD happen, but it's not all that common.BR1986FB;1291236 wrote:Disagree on the "few and far between" comment.

zach24ozI wanted the Browns to draft Peterson so they could have Haden and Peterson back there instead of Haden and suck or in the case of the last few weeks, suck and suck as corners. Then they should have just taken Julio last draft.

Typical Redskins mentality; we've got a great team this year! Then you do nothing just like pretty much every year. When was the last time they've even won their division? The 90's?said_aouita;1291297 wrote:Redskins seem to be closer to a playoff caliber team than the Colts.
Colts looked really good against Green Bay. They adjusted well to probably the best QB in the league, and Luck looks to be the real deal. Hell of a move to keep Wayne as well. I'll take them this year over the Redskins. -
Laley23
The Colts were way worse than the Redskins last year, so that makes sense. Then they took their #2 and most explosive WR and added him to their team, while the Colts added Donnie Avery and TY Hilton. Indys #2 is out with injuries and their O-Line was ignored in the offseason to build talent at the other positions around Luck. I would seriously hope the Skins are closer to a playoff team than the Colts.said_aouita;1291297 wrote: Redskins seem to be closer to a playoff caliber team than the Colts.
Not to mention the defensive side of the ball where Indy has 2 playmakers...Freeney and Mathis. Of course, you probably are ignoring the fact that they have been running a 4-3 since the mid 90s and Pagano brought over his 3-4 scheme and those 2 players moved from DE to OLB. That will take quite a bit of time.
So, yeah, Skins may be closer to the playoffs this year. But neither team will make it, and down the road, I am confident the Colts are the team to take. -

Dan Snyder is one of those obnoxious "finger in everything" owners that buys big names with no concept of team chemistry, too. He's spent lots of money over the past however many years, but him winning ANYTHING is equal to a blind squirrel finding a nut, at least so far into his ownership.said_aouita;1291297 wrote:Daniel Snyder comes across like a D-bag but at least he's willing to spend the big bucks.

If you knew anything about NFL and its history, this doesn't mean shit. You would also know that Dan Snyder has tried to buy a Super Bowl multiple times now and it has come crashing down on him every time. If I were a bandwagon fan like you, I would pick the Colts over the Skins to be my team. The Colts actually have their draft picks the next few years to build around their team.said_aouita;1291297 wrote:

My thinking as well. As good as a player RG3 is, the asking price was way too high.like_that;1291907 wrote:If you knew anything about NFL and its history, this doesn't mean shit. Don't hate me because you know the Browns would be better with rg3.
Even Browns fans can respect owners like the Rooney's and what they've done. Maybe even a guy like Kraft and the Pat's.
Snyder and his willing to spend is at least fun to watch, unlike the Cleveland Browns.
Lets see who gets deep into the playoffs, the Browns or 'Skins. -

Not really.
Pretty stupid of you (and many posters) to be honest but I guess that's also why you cheer for the Browns.
I don't understand why somebody can't just enjoy the sport overall and not only cheer for one team.BR1986FB;1291985 wrote:We're "close minded fools" because we are loyal to, and cheer for, one team? LOL
