And you'd better spend in FA or you just ruined another career.

    best DE, OLB, S, C.

does monte teo from ND play outside or is he a middle linebacker? the dude has a non stop motor and a playmaker. him next to jackson would be top notch.

Almost certainly we'll have a top 3 pick; could easily be 1 or 2. Hopefully, if indeed we are making strides in becoming a better football team, and with a new coach next year, we will not have another top 3 pick for years to come. Therefore, if they're not completely sold that weeden has the potential to be that guy (and not sure we can say 100% at this point one way of the other) then you have to get that guy with your first pick. (e.g Luck, RGII,Newton, etc). If you keep weeden you either get a stud DE or LB, or trade down a few spots and get the best WR and go from there.

Browns aren't good, but teams that find a way to be competitive week-in and week-out, you'd think would wind up with a few wins at some point. There are a couple teams around that, right now, don't look like they could beat anyone.
Yeah, Jags are the worst team in the league in my opinion. Unfortunately for the Browns (or fortunately if you want the #1 pick), Indy/Jags/Tenn play 4 games a piece against each other. Somebody has to win those games. That's how Jacksonville already got 1.

We still have major needs at G (2 of them), FS (coverage safety who will free up Ward to do his thing in the box), CB, DE, OLB, and WR. Smaller need at TE (people want to say Cameron... but the guy still really can't even get on the field). QB is an unknown, but if we end up picking #1 it's pretty obvious that Weeden didn't work out.

Of those, positions you look at in the top 5 are QB, CB, DE, and maybe WR in my opinion. Xavier Rhodes/DeMarcus Milliner or Sam Montgomery/Bjorn Werner all look like solid options to me. I'm not sure Mingo or Jarvis Jones are 4-3 guys, but they would obviously have to be considered too if a coach is comfortable with them as a 4-3 end. If you trade down a WR like Keenan Allen might come into play, but he isn't an Andre Johnson/Calvin Johnson top-5 pick worthy WR to me.

Trading down is especially attractive since we don't have a 2nd round pick.

Te'o can play strong side 'backer or in the middle. He's currently an ILB in a 3-4 scheme, I believe.

I think Indy has a small chance to make it to 7-8 wins.

Yeah he can really play any backer. Polian loves him and he could be the next gm hmm

Weeden will get at least four years like Couch. By then Holmgren will be gone and the Browns will have a new coach. The only constant the next four years will be their losing record.
Browns will draft early and get a few band-aid's to slow down the severe bleeding.

Just like the early 2k years all over again.

Holmgren will be gone well before 4 years (most likely after this season). Please stop trying to act like you know anything about the NFL, let alone the Browns. I am almost embarrassed for you when you post about football.

You speak as if your opinion is proven to be more correct than mine.

    It's not.

    Hope this helps.

I never said Holmgren would last four years. Pay attention.

No I speak as if you don't know what then fuck you're talking about, which you don't.

    Hope this helps.

Maybe we can trade for RG3 and then we will be the super bowl favorite next year.

No, it doesn't help. Speak English please.

Not sure about SB favorites but they would at least have a legit QB to build around.

eh, I think he is probably the best player in the history of the NFL, so I would say they would be the favorite.

He may go down as one of the most talented or gifted in the history of the NFL. I can't say "best" player yet.

Will be interesting to see what changes are made in the off-season and I wonder if the Browns will actually have the #1 pick again.

Is their an obvious top three or four draft picks that are "can't miss" talent? Probably would be best to trade down a high draft pick?

There have been plenty of black run/pass QBs who have amazed people when they first came to the NFL only to regress after one big season. Dead spin wrote an article about it outlining the stages these QBs go through. It was pretty funny, but also accurate. Luck will easily have the better career.

I'm tired of trading down to get average players. If you have the #1 pick, get a stud. With the new rookie cap rules, there is no reason to trade down salary wise, so go get a top notch player!! I don't care if it is a WR, LB, DE, or CB. We need game changers, and as of right now the only player on the team capable is T-Rich.

I fully expect, barring injury, for Luck to at least be in the "best ever" conversation when his career is over.

If you can trade down within the top 5-7 you do it. You're still getting an elite player.

No shit. If you can trade down from #1 or 2 to #4 and get a haul like the Rams got, you don't think twice.

I'd think twice about it if the QB is an elite talent.

But are there any in this draft the caliber of a Luck or Griffin?

Seems to be every year, this point last season, RG3 was seen as a late 1st early 2nd rounder and the Browns were going to draft Vonteze Burfect with the 5th pick.
