I'm not saying Mo Williams was a great player, or any of those other guys, but they won 66 games in 2009 (including tossing one out the window on the last day) They blew through the first 2 rounds 4-4, and then threw away a big first half lead against Orlando.
But yeah, ESPN loves their blanket statements, and Lebron was out there with the Washington Generals.
SMH BSPN is the worst.
I agree with this. -
IliketurtlesLol Karl Malone still bitter... http://espn.go.com/nba/conversations/_/id/9344402/karl-malone-leaves-michael-jordan-all-starting-5
What would be your all time starting 5?
PG- Magic
SG- Jordan
SF- Bird
PF- Duncan
C- Kareem -

Probably mine. Wilt/Bill Russell at C also gets consideration. PF position is the toughest for me to decide. Hard to think back at this position. I would honestly think about putting another C that had a mid range shot here that was also athletic enough to guard the 4. Duncan fits this bill, but is he the best? Hard to not get caught up in the now, opposed to say Hakeem OlajuwonIliketurtles;1452819 wrote:Lol Karl Malone still bitter... http://espn.go.com/nba/conversations/_/id/9344402/karl-malone-leaves-michael-jordan-all-starting-5

Shocking to say the least. Dumb move IMO, not sure who they're going to get that is any better. Wish he'd come to Cleveland as an assistant.wildcats20;1453349 wrote:Nuggs have let George Karl go. -

It makes no sense other than he supposedly is not happy. I don't know where he will land, but he will land somewhere. He is one of great coaches of this era of the NBA. -
gport_tennisThey lost there best player right before the playoffs. That's why they lost to warriors. Yet they fired Karl...dumb dumb dumb

Ironman92Seems like there's something to the story we're not getting.....just speculation

No they didn't. -

Ty lawson and danilo are 1a and 1b. They had Andre miller backing up ty Lawson, not a huge drop off. That's why I danilo is best/most important player -

lol what about Wilson Chandler then? Gallanari is the model of inconsistent. He is NOT their best player.gport_tennis;1453385 wrote:Ty lawson and danilo are 1a and 1b. They had Andre miller backing up ty Lawson, not a huge drop off. That's why I danilo is best/most important player -
wildcats20Andre Igoudala anyone?

Midstate01Karl in New Jersey? They didn't hire anyone yet, did they?

I know they talked with B Shaw, but I don't think they have hired anyone. -

You could name 4 guys before Gallo, IMO. -

Not their best player. Might have been most important though, as a floor spacer.Commander of Awesome;1453387 wrote:lol what about Wilson Chandler then? Gallanari is the model of inconsistent. He is NOT their best player.
"This is one of those situations where the numbers — the stats that show Denver might survive just fine without Gallinari, provided Lawson plays well — make me a bit queasy. That Nuggets team would clearly be very good, but it wouldn’t surprise me if the Gallinari injury created a trickle-down effect that's hard to perceive now but could emerge against top playoff competition. My gut feeling, based on watching this team all season and crunching the numbers, is that Gallinari’s injury pushes Denver’s ceiling from legitimate potential threat to win the conference to likely second-round out."
I hold Zach Lowe in very high regard as arguably among the best basketball analysts out there.

gport_tennisNo way are there 4 better / more important players on the nuggets than danilo. He is to important as a ball handler, and a shooter. The court shrinks for the nuggets when he is not on the court making it harder for everyone to operate
With danilo healthy they beat the warriors. 3-1 against warriors with him(1 pt loss from season sweep), 2-4 without him -

Midstate01Just realized I said new jersey. Oops. Brooklyn

Fly4FunGeorge Karl is starting to get up there, does he win a championship before he ends his coaching career? He's only slightly younger than Jackson and Popovich.

Fly4FunDr. J had a weird statement basically saying to not deal with the Lakers and Celtics as they will come out on the better end, which also seems apparent as those are undeniably the two top franchises.
http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/9349181/julius-erving-philadelphia-76ers-got-damaged-goods-andrew-bynum
It just seems odd how Dr. J and the article act like it's a bad or nefarious thing where it really just indicates that they have the best management. Of course all teams are trying to make deals that benefit their franchise, that's the point of making a deal.
Unless there is evidence of some type of deception like fraud, then this seems like a non-story. -

The Lakers and Celts have the best management? Might explain why they were both first round outs.Fly4Fun;1453514 wrote:Dr. J had a weird statement basically saying to not deal with the Lakers and Celtics as they will come out on the better end, which also seems apparent as those are undeniably the two top franchises.

Because 1 year defines a team's operation? Look, I hate both the Lakers and Celtics, but to deny that they both must have great team management skills is a joke. You don't win that many championships on sheer luck. Now, I will give you that it doesn't guarantee more championships going forward. But to argue against their historical success is just pointless.Pick6;1453587 wrote:The Lakers and Celts have the best management? Might explain why they were both first round outs. -

Im obviously not arguing against their historical success. The do not currently have the best management, which is what you stated.Fly4Fun;1453591 wrote:Because 1 year defines a team's operation?
