where did we take Chaun Thompson that one year? I remember him being a huge reach.

Regardless, the Browns didn't take the chance to lose him. I have no problem with that.

Again, we have up a 4th, 5th, and 7th... Basically got the 4th back.... You're trying to hard.
Agree to disagree on the subject.

I didn't mind the Robiskie pick at the time either... I thought it was a bit high for him, but I thought he'd be a solid possession guy.

He turned out to be a drama queen before he even earned a spot on the team. Bitched about starting on ST's and shit... SMH.

I remember watching that draft hoping they'd take Mike Doss with that pick...then trying to figure out who the hell Chaun Thompson was.

Everything about Cleveland sucks! How about everyone just start cheering for the Bengals since no one seems to like anything that the Browns do. Doesn't matter if it's draft picks, who to take at a certain spot, who we should go after in FA, people liking Colt and H&H, then hating him, now not liking their new QB and sticking up for Colt again...it never gets old. We haven't even seen what Richardson, Weeden, or any of these guys have done yet and a lot of people are already saying they're bad picks and stupid stuff like that. Until they actually get on the field and face teams in the NFL it's hard to judge right now how they're going to be. Yes it looks like it's going to be a rough year by looking at the schedule, but they're not expected to make a playoff run this year, I'd be happy just to see them score around 20pts/game and show signs of getting better and maybe pull off an upset or two...I think Heckert and these guys know what they're doing. May not seem like the best decisions, but they've done better at getting talent than what they've had before in Cleveland.

^^Jesus will you shut the fuck up already

Fans don't have to like every freakin move their team makes. It's okay to be a little critical. It doesn't make you a bad fan or a pessimistic fan.

    Thank you.

I'm just telling you that it gets old and dumb with you complaining over and over about every little things the Browns do. You're probably a reason why people don't want to root for Cleveland teams.

+1 he's such a cry baby bitch. Oh no we gave up a 5th and a 7th round pick to move up one spot. Even though those players picked in those spots more than likely wont be on the team. Weeden sucks even though he hasn't played a game in the nfl. Just shut the fuck up and hope for the best and give them a chance to prove themselves

S&L hasn't been piled on this much since he fucked his 400LB ex-roomate in Chicago.

    .
You're right, it is okay to be critical. But arguing about what constitutes being fleeced is not being critical about a team, it's an objective thing.

The team with the 6th pick gave up 2 additional 1sts and a second to move up 4 spots.

The team with the 4th pick gave up a 4th, 5th, 7th to move up 1 spot. You tell me who got fleeced. Certainly wasn't us, and you thinking so has more to do with you being pissy about this draft than about the concept of being fleeced.

I think I'll have a little more respect for someones opinion like Peter King than Mike Freeman. Who the FUCK is Mike Freeman besides some dude who has recently come out of nowhere to bash the Browns? That's the second recent article I've seen from him ripping on them. Prior to that, never heard of him.

    From King...

Good trade by the Vikings. Not a bad trade by Cleveland.
Remember on the famous NFL Films clip when Bill Parcells is exhorting his Giants team back in the '80s by saying, "There's a reason you lift all them weights!'' And in this draft, there's a reason Cleveland built up all those draft choices entering this draft -- a league-high 13 in all.

I've been hearing GM Rick Spielman of the Vikings took advantage of a Browns team that didn't want to risk losing Trent Richardson, which is true. I've been hearing Browns GM Tom Heckert got snookered into throwing fourth-, sixth- and seventh-round picks. That's a load of crap. This is the easiest Monday Morning Quarterbacking to do (hey, that's trademarked!) after the draft.

There's no way Heckert could know what real offer Spielman had on the table. Spielman, as it turned out, had talked to Tampa Bay about the pick, but the Bucs were never seriously interested in it. But Heckert had no way of knowing that at the time. General managers making vital decisions for the long-term cannot sit there and say, "I wonder if Spielman really has something, or if he's bluffing.'' They have to make decisions on the fly. The Browns kept the top five picks of a vital draft intact and got the guy they wanted, Trent Richardson, and still had 10 picks to work with. I don't castigate Heckert. I applaud him.

I'm not saying don't be critical or scrutinize a draft but to rip on this trade is comical.

Which is also why I always thought the comparisons of McCoy to Drew Brees were comical. Yes, Brees is shorter but I don't think a lot of people realize how special and how much of a physical "freak" he is. He has giant hands and the wingspan of an offensive tackle. In other words, he has long monkey arms and when he throws the ball straight over the top his release point is that of a guy who is 6"4", not 6'. You won't find many players that size with those kind of attributes.

I think they stayed put at 22 because the Wright selection at #20 came out of nowhere. I don't think anyone thought Tennessee was taking Wright. Heck, most draft analysts review of the Tits draft has that one as a "WTF/head scratcher." I think the Browns believed Wright was falling to them.

As far as trading up, on draft night Adkins (OBR) said the Browns were scrambling like Hell to try to move back up for Michael Floyd. How valid that is I don't know but as soon as the pick got to Arizona I knew that trade wasn't happening.

Kinda makes you wonder when "fanhood" gets questioned for never attending a game too? Hmmmm.....I have no issue with you questioning/scrutinizing their draft but dude....take a breath. You've been a Browns fan HOW long? You're better than that. We ALL are. Things WILL get better.

Selfish ownership and incompetent General managers has a lot to do with people not cheering for Cleveland teams.

Plus, the teams usually suck. Has Cleveland ever won a championship in any professional sport?

To be fair, you were being pretty damn harsh on the Browns pre draft. I am not questioning any Browns fans' fanhood though.

There really is no where to go but up with this franchise. I hope I am wrong but the Browns had a great opportunity this draft and they didn't get it done imo.

Definitely...that's why I don't have an issue with S&L being "skeptical" but there's no need for a meltdown. We haven't even seen these kids play in the NFL yet. Hell, Weeden's already getting "hate" tweets from our "classy" fans.

Heckert's first year he got three starters (four if you count the time McCoy had under center), year two he got 4-5 and this year he got at least 3, possibly up to 5...that's pretty solid if you ask me.

It's no secret that I wasn't on the Colt McCoy bandwagon but even if they had gone into this season with him at QB I still would've watched. I wouldn't have liked it but I would've watched.

Smh at the hate tweets. I didn't like the pick, but there is no reason for that bullshit. Browns fans and media are their worst enemies at times.

No shit. The Eric Wright death threats were the worst. Yes, the dude was a matador at tackling but no reason to go to that extreme.

Off topic but now that I'm listening to NFL Radio vs 92.3 in the morning, the host Ross Tucker gets a lot of calls from various cities across the nation to discuss their teams draft. So far, I have heard 5 calls come from Cleveland....FOUR of them were to discuss "Steeler football." SMFH
