LOL. Phoenix is the worst at closing out games. Seriously, the worst.

Can't be the worst they are up 3-1.

No, the worst. They have given up the tying goal in in the last minutes of all 4 games. What you do in OT has nothing to do with how you close out regulation with a lead.

Looking like a team without a Cup will come out of the West, with St. Louis, Phoenix, Nashville and LA all on the brink of advancing (of course, the odds were that was going to happen when only 2 of the 8 had a Cup to begin with, but still...)

I'd like to see LA in the finals. Fuck the rest of them.

It's nice to see Holtby do well for the caps. He was damn good for Hershey when they won the calder cup a few years ago

Haha I'm not surprised by what he's doing this playoffs. He is a talented goaltender and I could see him being the caps goalie next year and beyond.

over 40 stops last night was impressive - but the bruins lacked intensity in the game and didn't put anyone in front to screen him. It's not hard to stop shots from the point you can see the entire way.

He made a couple of saves that he should not have had to there at the end of the game.

Rinne might just win Nashville the cup. Detroit was the better team probably but couldn't score on em despite doubling the Preds in shots 3 times this series. Very reminiscent of Giguere actually

Btw if it's St. Louis vs LA and Phoenix vs Nashville the NHL will get just terrible terrible ratings sadly. Thank god NY, Boston and Philly are in it

Detroit was not the better team, at all.

Torres has been suspended for 25 games.

He needed suspended, but given the suspension lengths of some of the other similar hits (0 for Weber, 1 for Neal, 4 for Asham), this is downright retarded. Torres has a little bit of a history, but god damn. Obviously the NHL is trying to send a new message after coming off way too light handed to start.

I read a column on Yahoo (I think?) a couple days ago that basically said that in the history of hockey, an illegal hit leading to a stretcher job tends to have MUCH larger ramifications for how things are dealt with than anything else. We're talking things like rules changes; big stuff like that. So, for a crazy-long suspension to come down on Torres really didn't surprise me. Bringing out a stretcher just seems to flash a light on above someone's head like, "Wait...we've had brawls and constant cheap shots...but now someone really got fuckered up! HEADS. WILL. ROLL."
  • ts1227
Yeah, the hit wasn't much worse, if at all, than the others. It just happened to hurt someone worse this time because the impact angle was a slight bit different. They all had the same intentions.

Thomas is playing unreal right now

But as always, they have the experience, and it wouldnt shock me or anyone else if they made a deep run...or got bounced in 5.
    Sigh...

I hate being right on this kind of thing.

Caps go up 2-0 then Boston answers with 2 goals within a minute and a half crazy game so far
