Welllp, there we have it. We now officially know the Nats will not be winning their division.

    lol^

I don't know if the Nats win the division this year, but I could see it happening.

However, they have a formidable young core and I expect them to win a few division titles over the next several years.

Huh....the Great and powerful Oz of CP has spoken!!. How're all your basement threads workin out? You're a fixture down there...you know.

After thinking some more about it...the Nats should run away with that division. The Phils had their run.

yep I think most people around baseball thought they were still one year away because of how young they were. Philly is getting old, Atlanta is really young and haven't been able to get over the hump for a while. definitely there for the taking this year. going to be interesting to see what happens with Strasburg if they are within 3 games heading into September.

Adam Dunn hit a go-ahead 2 run bomb in the top of the 9th in Detroit off of closer Valverde.....Tim McCarver was calling the game and said it went so far the Detroit fans had to use a relay to throw it back onto the field.

8 HR 22 RBI....not too bad considering last year.

    Good God Heyward!

    Fair or foul....not sure

    Titanic blast.....most definitely

Over the foul pole in Colorado.
  • karen lotz
That was mammoth. Looked like it flew OVER the fair pole.

    CoLOLorado

    Yeah....2 things

    1. Make the damn pole so that can't happen.

    2. If a player can hit a ball far enough to clear the HR fence and over the pole....it should be a HR

    What happened?

    Foul ball smoked a fan.

Pastornicky fouled a ball off pretty hard over the first base dugout. It was a rocket, ball bounced up and hit the facade after hitting someone.

Hey lotz....what coach in the Braves dugout was on camera with half his arm down his pants in the adjustment state? Lol

He would've been less discreet pulling his pants down.
  • Ironman92
Would love to have CarGo on the Reds.....straight up for Dusty

Chris Davis starts at first base today at 1pm for Baltimore in Fenway Park. 6+ hrs later he goes to the mound in tie game in the bottom of the 16th. He puts a zero on the board to take the game to the 17th, and lo and behold the Orioles score 3 in the top of the 17th. So now he really feels the pressure to get a win and what would also be a save if he wasn't the pitcher who was of record when the lead was taken. The first two batters reach on a hit and a walk so it is not looking too good facing Adrian Gonzalez, but he strikes him out swinging on 3 pitches, turning the tide. Next his fellow competitor on the mound, position player Darnell McDonald who had given up the 3 runs in the top of the 17th, comes up with a chance to get the runs back and take himself "off the hook", but on the 2nd pitch grounds into a game ending 6-4-3 DP.

Bryce Harper is just awesome. Plays with enthusiasm and flair we havent really seen in awhile. At least not out of a prodigy like him.

EDIT: He just went 1st to 3rd on a ball hit to LF and then stole home when Hamels threw over to first to check on Werth.
