Because I watch the games and don't see Lance Moore catching 10 yard passes and turning them into 80 yard TDs? lol

Thats ridiculous. I posted the YAC. Manning didnt benefit more than any of them. Hell he was probably last. Brady and Brees arent elite because their WR/RB/TE catch the ball and run.

Cuz it's not like being elite is of opinion or anything...
You probaly should before you say something like Green Bay has a MLB team or a Black QB has never won a Super Bowl.

Those videos dont really show anything. All teams benefit from guys busting long runs. Gronk had 0842583 of them this year. Welker had a bullshit 99 yarder as well. Jahvid Best took a screen like 60 something yards. Sproles had 40 thousand catches in the backfield and probably had over 1000 yards receiving lol. Jordy Nelson had a short catch and took it another 80 yards.

EDIT: Just looked, Darren Sproles caught 86 passes for 710 yards. He had a YAC of 703. So he basically took dump offs and screens from Brees and gave him 700 more yards. Maybe Marino should protest.

Ehh whatever..I probably would keep going back and forth with you laley, but I literally can't stand any argument involving skyhook, so I'm out of this. Eli is not top 5 in my mind.

    Lol, fair enough.

Eli is absolutely an elite QB. He has as much of an argument for next in line after Brady, Brees, and Manning as anyone else.

I think of elite as top 2, mayyyybe top 3. And he's not touching Manning, Brady, Brees, or Rodgers.

Just curious. If he shreds NE for a title, like 400 yrds and 3 TDs or something, what would your opinion be?

And for the record I kind of agree. But we are very lucky to have Brady and Manning. They go beyond Elite. They go into historic.

    Brees
    Rodgers
    Eli

are the 3 elite guys for me.

Do those 400 yards and 3 TDs come from (3) 80 yard TD passes? :D

But seriously, I don't know. It's a team sport. He wouldn't be where he is without that d-line. The Patriots are there solely because of Brady. That's why I think Brady is elite and Eli isn't.

Kind of, as in for the season Brady has done more for sure. But in the game that got them there...Brady looked like he had money on the Ravens. Eli did more in that game.

So of those 4 which one (maybe 2) is/are not elite then?
  • Tiernan
Eli's performance on Sunday absolutely put him in the elite category. The guy was physically pounded by SF and still hung 300+ on them. Maybe the toughest single game performance by a QB of all time. Can't see how NE is favored by 3 in this one. The NYG rush will give Brady fits but he is elite too and usually figures out a way to stay to keep the game close. This game will be a slobberknocker.

Yet you list the 4 best QBs in the league nice contradiction.

He also threw the ball 58 times, which certainly doesn't hurt your ability to throw 300 yards. Especially when they couldn't establish a run game.

no one runs on SF though.

You're failing to see the point. He had 300 yards because that's all they had to rely on.

Is it off set cause it was raining the whole game?

Irrelevant. I'm saying that it's not out of the ordinary that a pro quarterback threw the ball 58 times and achieved 300 yards passing.

a lot of guys do it with 20 less attempts so i'd say it is out of the ordinary. He got it done against the best defense in the league, and it's no so much the amount of times he threw but the amount of completions he made.

Did I say those 4 QBs are elite?

    No. I did not.

I said I think of elite as the 2 or 3 best at their position.

Then I said Eli is not better than Manning, Brees, Brady, or Rodgers.

    Comprende'?

    Exactly.

Just punching holes in Tierdouche's argument. 300+ yards when you throw the ball 58 times isn't impressive. It should happen.
