I know some people rag on other teams fan bases for people now showing up but I thought Id look up to see exactly where the cities rank. Ill just cover the last 3 years.

I still dont know why the NFL has 3 teams in Florida and why do they keep trying with the city of Oakland

This info doesn't look right to me. Seems like an attendance by stadium size rather than "sellout" which is the lynch pin of the issue.

Yeah, my thoughts as well. I'd like to see a list of sellouts in this time frame.

Yeah got it off FailSPN. They didnt mention how many total seats each stadium has just the attendance.
  • jordo212000
For baseball they always do a % of how full the stadium is. They don't do that for the NFL?

Don't have time to look up for everyone but i remember an article from last year that said the Packers have sold out every game since 1960 and the Steelers have sold out every game since November 1972.

That makes me wonder why Pittsburgh built such a small stadium attendance wise. With the amount of fans they have....why not build a 75-80 thousand seat stadium

    Everything in moderation.

To keep demand high. Make tickets difficult to get. I think that's one reason why Pittsburgh fans travel so well to other cities--especially those within driving distance. Tickets are definitely easier to get in Cincy, Cleveland, etc.

Maybe I am wrong, but seems like demand would still be high and the added revenue would be incredible.

I'd say equally to insure they're on tv, at least from a marketing standpoint.

I dont buy that they "travel" well. There are always a bunch of Pittsburgh fans at every away game because they are located all over the country.

agree. One of the largest fan bases in sports. They could expand and only benefit from it.

That's a part of it I'm sure, but I myself have flown to 8 different cities to see them play (in addition to driving to Cleveland and Cincy) and I know many others who have as well. A couple of travel agencies have packages too, so yes, they do "travel well".

Or there are just a bunch of bandwagon fans.

Ah yes, the standard answer of jealous fans who like loser cities. Congrats for chirping in with the old unoriginal stand-by.

If the Browns won the SB this year I would be saying the same thing. Why would I be jealous? I don't need to cling onto a winning team that I have no connection to because I am weak minded, and need a sense of some type of glory.

Nice to see you get butt hurt over the comment. If you think the rednecks in Ohio are real pburgh fans you are kidding yourself. If you think the pburgh fans who "travel" out west to watch the steelers play are real pburgh fans, you are also kidding yourself.

I am willing to bet real pburgh fans dislike the idiot redneck "fans" who have absolutely no connection to the state of Pennsylvania, let alone the city of pittsburgh. In fact i know real steelers fans who hate those type of people. I know it was annoying to deal with lebron "fans" when the Cavs were successful, and I know they wouldn't have felt the same pride if the Cavs won the title as real Cleveland fans would have.

Now cue the typical (insert story on why so and so has always been a fan), the "you are just jealous," or "why are you so concerned with who people root for" responses. I just call it like it is.

I'd like to see attendance as a figure with relation to market size. That would be much more telling.
