Cleveland Cavaliers 11-12 season thread

Magic was 6'9'' 255 playing PG. That sounds like an athletic freak to me.

If athletes are superior today then it's all fair game, is it not? Magic played in the 80's with athletes similar to him (though Magic was a freak) and LBJ is playing in today's game with athletes similar to him (though he is a freak as well)...

    That point is seriously stupid.
I'm comparing them head to head, I said earlier Lebron would eat Magic alive and I stand by that. Lebron would lock Magic down and Magic wouldn't be able to guard him. You think Magic could lock down someone like DRose, no way.

For instance, if LeBron had to play in Chuck Taylors instead of his specially designed Nike war boots he probably would've experienced quite a few more ankle injuries.

So I don't know that you can say a player is better because of their era, as it ignores the fact that everyone in a particular era is playing by the same rules and if they were transplanted to another era, they'd be using the techniques of that era.
Fair point, I said earlier it's hard to compare players from different eras.

Which puts them at even. The 7 rebs cancel each other out, Lebron scores eight more a game and Magic's four extra assists provides for a matching eight.

It's a lot easier to stand out as a freak in the 80's because your competition was terrible than it is now when your competition are all freaks, its much more difficult.

LeBron couldn't lock down Paul Pierce, yet he's going to lock down Magic... LOL

I would argue if the 80s players had access to the supplements, workouts, equipment (shoes, uniforms), travel amenities, and other technological advantages today's athlete has that they would pretty much close that gap. It's all relative.
    Fair point

Lebron is a far better jump shooter than Magic ever was and is one of the best finishers around the rim this game has ever seen. 85 is Magic's career%. Magic is 19,11, and 7 for his career. Lebron is 27,7 and 7.
So LBJ is a better finisher at the rim and still avgs 48%, Magic avg 52%. Hmmmmm, sounds like a better shooter to me. Nice fail.

Magic Johnson wasn't quick bro, not in any sense of the word.

McD's must've given you the day off today... Either that or you're throwing back that pink slime again. Enjoy!

Magic got 7 rebs in 4 less minutes per game. If you take their per 36 min, Magic beats LBJ in every category except pts.

I'm supposed to respect someone's opinion on basketball that has a name "Commander of Awesome"? Go back to playing WOW.

If being a good basketball player was solely based on athletic ability, Christian Eyenga would be an All-Star.

Then why do you keep doing it?

bingo. And LeBron would have 5 titles by now.

Also Magic got laid more....so you have to take that into consideration.

lol yeah why would any NBA player be in a relationship, mind boggling.

You didn't watch the playoffs last year, I know you did.

    LeBron 6'8 270

    DRose 6'3 190...

I'd hope LBJ could check D Rose for spurts within a game..

So I guess you assume LBJ would shit on MJ as well then? Because Magic and MJ had a few good battles as well.. Even thought Magic's career was winding down..

Please point out where I stated that what I posted was a fact. I wasn't aware that I needed to preface every opinion I have on a message board with, "Hey guys, the following is about to be my opinion".

Also, aren't you the one who claimed that you watch more football than most people on here put together and that DeShaun Thomas would be an ideal fit for the Cavs at 2? GTFO with your nonsense, and then maybe you'll have some room to be giving tips.

NO NO NO, a guy who is 6'8'' 260 plus should never be able to stay with a player like Rose, who may be the quickest player in the league and gets in the lane at will, are you serious?
