IMO Jeremy Lamb would look real good on the Cavs.Wooball;1054506 wrote:Also, this is why it is so important that the Cavs lose this year. I know it would mean that the rookies and other young guys are developing if they won enough to make the playoffs, but in the NBA you need to either pair an elite scorer(24ppg+) w/ and solid scorer (18ppg), or you need 3 or 4 guys that average 13-18ppg a night.
Right now, out of the top 20 leading scorers in the NBA, only 4 were drafted outside of the top 10. 3 of those 4 guys never played in college (Kobe, Monte Ellis and Al Jefferson). Since the rule change requiring kids to be out of high school for 1 year, these types of talents being available in the mid-late teens is less likely with an additional year of scouting. 13 of the 20 were top 5 draft picks. Kyrie Irving looks like he is going to be a guy that could average 18+ per night. I don't see another guy on the roster that is capable of giving that kind of productivity. Basically, they need another top 10 pick(top 5 would be ideal) to add another elite scorer. -

I'm fine with either him or Barnes. We need that wing scorer and this team will be sitting beautiful for the future -

He will get dealt by the deadline. I wonder if they keep Andy. I say we try and get a first rounder for him -

If we get rid of Andy, I sure hope we get another C....Erden or Hollins arent going to cut it.Crimson streak;1054820 wrote:He will get dealt by the deadline. I wonder if they keep Andy. I say we try and get a first rounder for him -
sleeperAndy is likely gone to a contender. I don't know if any team will be dumb enough to pick up Jamison, but hopefully we can dump him for anything at this point, even a 2nd rounder.

MulvaThat was a horrible defensive display. Kyrie getting abused on that end.
-
WooballCavs down 57-46 at the half. Irving w/ 13 and 3 so far. DJ Augustin w/ 19 and 6 at the half. Anyone watching this game? Is Augustin abusing KI?
-
robj55Augustin is killing the Cavs off that pick and pop/roll with Mullens.
-
sleeperIrving is beyond impressive at this point. If we can get a competent 3 on the team, we should be good in a few years. Really helped a lot having 2 top 4 picks to come and play.

gport_tennisErden is terrible. 4 fouls in 3 minutes

I really don't get why he gets minutes.gport_tennis;1054871 wrote:Erden is terrible. 4 fouls in 3 minutes
Another W. Another solid offensive game from Kyrie. Freaking garbage Eastern Conference. -

True!!
Kyrie is really really good!!! -
gport_tennisSpeaking of this game, it still amazes me how fat diaw got

KR1245Cavs adjustment at the half took Augustin out of the game. Kyrie is ridiculously good, really enjoy watching him play

Erden also have 5 points and 6 boards in 9 minutes of action. He is a young center prospect that is going to get some burn this year to see if he has a chance to be a back-up center in the league. I will wait a couple weeks until he gets back into game shape and has more experience running the system in game situations before I make a judgement on him.Mulva;1054897 wrote:I really don't get why he gets minutes.

He's 25. It's not like he has a lot of untapped potential. I'd rather run Samardo out there, and I'm not a big fan of his at all.Wooball;1054904 wrote:He is a young center prospect that is going to get some burn this year to see if he has a chance to be a back-up center in the league. -
WooballCavs at 6-6, but the combined record of those 6 teams they've beaten is 20-56. After they host Golden State tomorrow at the Q, the month ends w/ Bulls, @ Hawks, @ Heat, Knicks, Nets, @ Celtics, Celtics. Will be interesting to see what the record looks like after that 7 game stretch. I hate rooting for the Cavs to lose, and will watch this one on DVR after work, but I expect them to be about 8-12 by the end of the month, and things only look to get tougher in February schedule wise.

I've said this before, probably on this thread. But, hopefully they can compete and put themselves in positions where they are getting better, but not win too many games. Kinda like when the reds were always stinking it up but they were young and fun to watch, then the winning eventually came.
Cavs need another year of solid draft picks and to be able to somehow pull in a couple free agents that are good players and then they will be winning a lot more games.
But gotta feel like the future is bright. -

He has only been in the league since last year. I agree it doesn't look like he has a huge upside, but he is 7' (or pretty close) and has some OK skills. He looked alright last year in Boston when he was forced into action. Obviously, he needs to be able to defend without fouling. I think Samardo has some potential as a backup 4, but I think Scott is still unhappy w/ the big boy that he came in out of shape and now has an option to put on the floor and send a message to Samardo w/ keeping him on the bench.Mulva;1054911 wrote:He's 25. Pick6This is the 5th straight game Kyrie has scored 20+ points. Pretty sure that breaks Lebron's previous record of 4 as a rookie.

BR1986FBDamn this Irving kid is going to be something special. Between college, preseason and the first 12 games he hasn't even played a total of 30 games and he's already THIS good? Imagine what he's going to be like when he gets some real experience under his belt?

People were comparing him to Chris Paul before the draft. Fits the bill pretty good so far IMO.BR1986FB;1054985 wrote:Damn this Irving kid is going to be something special. Exactly....then he can run and get his championship in a major market.
