I guess I don't understand posts like this. There isn't a browns fan on here that believes this defense is anything more than middle of the pack. The d is improved but are definitely middle of the pack. They need that playmaking line backer and a cover safety. The offense needs new everything beside joe Thomas and Alex Mack -

Nope, Browns fan since the very early 80's here . . . . but Colt ain't the guy. Yeah, I realize the line is a disaster, he has no time and for some reason they refuse to play to his strength and let him roll out . . . but those things don't excuse the mediocre arm and poor accuracy. The defense as is can at least be competent.
In today's NFL if you can't score points you can't win regardless of how all world your defense is. We need to draft offense and only offense for about the first 3 rounds this year as no amount of defensive studs will do this team a lick of good as long as it is completely unable to move the ball and put points on the board. -

They aren't top 5. Their stats were jaded by a) playing shitty QB's and b) teams not needing to throw on them, like today, because the defense can't stop the run. They aren't a bottom 5 defense either. Probably right around 20ish. We all know they were/are a top 5 defense, because of the teams they have played, however they have a nice foundation to be a legit defense in the near future.
