NFL Week 9 - Baltimore Ravens (5-2) at Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2)

  • Non

    Here we go again.

Not much needed to sell this one.

Best rivalry in the NFL. Primetime on NBC. This second meeting is coming somewhat earlier than usual but still the winner should have the inside track to the AFC North title.

I'm pumped for this game. It will be much closer than the first meeting. This thread needs a poll Non.

My friend wants me to go to Pittsburgh and watch it with her. I'm still debating on it but I believe I'm going.

    17-10 Pittsburgh

Steelers have a much better offense and a slightly worse defense. Nobody has a good statistical game but Big Ben does enough to win.

I don't see Bmore being able to sweep this series. Especially the way the two teams are playing. Pittsburgh has a better QB, better recieiving core. Bmore's defense will have to play lights out for the Ravens to win.

Depending on which Ravens team shows up the one from the first coupe games of the season or the team from the last couple games. Hoping for a sweep but thats a tall order to fill. But i'm going with the Ravens 21-17

    I'll be heading down again.

This is similar to a playoff scenario for the Steelers, defeating New England at home and then having to come back and play Baltimore. As if this were the AFC Championship at midseason.

I don't care what anybody says, the Steelers are coming on and could be potentially very dangerous.

It's big from Baltimore's perspective to halt the Steelers momentum or the Steelers could be on their way to the division title, top seed, and so forth.

Steelers Pro Bowlers at midseason mark:

    Ben Roethlisberger
    Mike Wallace
    LaMarr Woodley

    maybe:

    Maurkice Pouncey
    Troy Polamalu
    Ike Taylor

Woodley is probably out for this game with a hamstring injury. James Harrison could be back for this Sunday though. Farrior will miss a month with a torn calf.

Steelers should win but mounting injuries worry me. Odd that the Steelers will finish the series with Baltimore before they even play one game with the Bengals or the Browns.

It will be a tight game and I am picking the Ravens. It will be my first trip to Pittsburgh. I wish I was actually going to the game.

Woodley said last night that he thought he'd be able to play next Sunday.

Unless there was more of an downgrade today.

Ike Taylor got banged up, too.
  • GoPens
Just said on the news that Woodley is doubtful, but Harrison has been cleared to return.

That hurts big time. Woodley has been on fire.

I think this Chris Carter from Fresno State will be a player. Good speed off the edge, which could help him right away get underneath the bigger tackles. But the problem will be in defending the run.

I'll be putting about 50,000 on the Ravens.

Not liking the Steelers chances with the injuries.

Hate to use that as an excuse but I think it may be absolutely pivotal in this one with Harrison and Woodley both sidelined.
  • killer_ewok
Now they're saying Woodley might play Sunday night.
  • bigdaddy2003
I thought I read on ESPN's crawler that Woodley was out and Harrison may play.
  • GoPens
Woodley out, could be for several weeks, Harrison probably out as well according to the PG

Adam Schefter's report came out after the PG's report.

Woodley also saying that he could play....

I admire that he wants to play but I don't know how smart it is.

I could see the Steelers moving Brett Keisel to outside linebacker some and then playing Heyward at DE.

Not having Woodley and Harrison could really suck. If they get pressure on Flacco, they can make him crumble. If not, he could be very effective.

I know. Particularly Woodley. He's playing at an NFL Defensive Player of the Year type level.

Standard is the standard, as Tomlin says. They'll move guys around and expect to perform well but truthfully his status could be the difference in the game.

Wow. Very pumped for this game!
