Week 7: Seahawks @ Browns
-
BR1986FBAfter looking over Seattle's roster, this is a VERY bad matchup for the Browns offense.
Probably won't be able to run the ball, with or without Hillis, due to the Hawks' size up front. Normally, teams in a 4-3 have their monsters on the inside at the tackles. Not only does Seattle have this but they've moved Red Bryant, another 320+ lber out to DE. I think they rank 7th against the run and did a pretty good job shutting down the Giants rush attack. They only have one light in the pants rush DE which you'd think would bode well for the Browns pass offense (no pass rush). Not so fast...
The Seahawks also have HUGE DB's (both corners are 220+) so they should be vulnerable to the deep ball. The problem there is a) the Browns have no legit deep threat and b) they don't have a QB that can consistently throw deep AND accurate. Soooo...we're likely looking at more dink & dunk. -

Way to spread some optimism BR I'm curious to watch Earl Thomas and Alan Branch play this game. I know some people thought Earl Thomas would be a great safety and this is my second time being able to watch him play. Also going to be eyeing Max Unger, another center that was taken in the first round. Curious to see how he fares compared to Alex Mack.BR1986FB;939071 wrote:After looking over Seattle's roster, this is a VERY bad matchup for the Browns offense.

You may not get to see Unger in that I'd heard there's a good chance he won't play which bodes well for the Browns D-Line (replacement center and two rookies starting on the right side for the Sea Chickens).Commander of Awesome;939084 wrote:Way to spread some optimism BR I'm curious to watch Earl Thomas and Alan Branch play this game. Sounds like Earl Thomas wants to prove something after the Browns passed on him.... -
Hb31187Is Haden expected to play? I have Sidney Rice on my bench in fantasy, but if Haden isnt playing I'm thinking of starting him.

He practiced yesterday. Game time decision but I think he'll go.Hb31187;941476 wrote:Is Haden expected to play? I have Sidney Rice on my bench in fantasy, but if Haden isnt playing I'm thinking of starting him. -

+1I will take 10 PTS from the defense any day.
I'm seeing it differently....more time for McCoy, Little in instead of Robiskie.....could be a BIG day for Colt. They only have one light in the pants rush DE which you'd think would bode well for the Browns pass offense (no pass rush). Not so fast...

I'll be at the game with Mrs Hits ...SEC 342 up at the top...I'll have my BG Falcons hat on. If you see me say Hi!. -
BR1986FBBrowns need to win this one. I'm not expecting it but if they don't it will get uglier & uglier week by week. The fan base has an unreal expectation for the talent on the roster.

I agree. I'm much more optimistic today than I was last week. Don't turn the ball over and get solid OL play and they should win.SportsAndLady;942156 wrote:They'll beat the Seahawks -

I don't know BR....I don't know too many people who thought we'd win more than 8 games....most people thought 6-7. We could easily be 3-2 right now, and Peyton Hillis has been a non factor. Is 6 wins unreal? I admit I was optimistic...expected some improvement...maybe 7 or 8 wins. The fan base has an unreal expectation for the talent on the roster.
To me, the biggest disappointment has been the play (or no play) of Hillis, but especially the coaching. -

When it was announced that Manning was done for the season...some people really thought they had a shot of going into the bye undefeated...craziness. There just isn't the talent at the skill positions. No franchise qb, wr or rb....the end of the season is going to be brutal....ughHitsRus;942177 wrote:I don't know BR....I don't know too many people who thought we'd win more than 8 games....most people thought 6-7. Exactly my point. I was one of them projecting a 7-9 record. This is probably a 4-5 win team, at best.HitsRus;942177 wrote:I don't know BR....I don't know too many people who thought we'd win more than 8 games....most people thought 6-7. -

An arguement could have been made at the beginning of the season that that Hillis was a franchise RB. But it should have been obvious that we lacked a #1 WR, Colt McCoy was a question mark, and there was no depth in the OL or in the secondary....not to mention theDL and LB core.No franchise qb, wr or rb....the end of the season is going to be brutal....ugh
...and the schedule the last part of the season... ugh....it would be incredible to get 1 win out of the last 5. I'll be switching to Tribe Hot stove by Jan 1. -
OhioStatePride2003Incase you can't find the game on television, the internet, or the radio, I'm doing the play-by-play for BrownsGab today over on Twitter.
