Not like Phil Hughes is Cy Young, but apparently Girardi didn't trust the rookie much.

Girardi must not feel confident in the 2nd time through the order for Nova

Strike zone is changing a bit.

Girardi going to the Bullpen again. Hope the whole staff is ready, this could get good.

That's what I was thinking but it has worked so far.

Depends on how Carpenter bounces back. Slight advantage Philly at home with Doc.

And Avila gets his first hit of the series.

Girardi has always had a rep of overmanaging, idk why he didn't try to get 3-4 out of Hughes who is a starter.

It worked, I guess. If this goes extras though, Yanks may have to pitch CC and Freddy.

Yankees need to keep it at 2 or closer so Andruw Jones' 2 run HR will be more meaningful.

    CC up in the pen.

Back to the Cano at bat....he was up 2-0 and the next pitch was not close and the ump blew it....should've been 3-0....the at bat went on for a while but that was a good break for Detroit.
  • Ironman92
You think Arod could hit an 88 mph fastball right now?

The 2-0 "strike" was further outside than the 1st ball called. Always makes me laugh.
