Gblockbad qb's in the league usually look bad from the start and stay that way..some start bad ie payton manning and get better(or their team gets better allowing them to play better)...i cant think of another qb that started this well that didnt end up staying that way..of course he is going to have some ups and downs especially when they get more tape on him, but overall he reminds me of how big ben came in and you could see from the beginning that he was going to be good, even tho he had some rough games and was also on a team that at times didnt need much from him

And even Manning's bad first season wasn't THAT bad. He had a shitload (28) of picks, but also threw 26 touchdowns. He was just made the center of the team from day one after being drafted and got through his growing pains that year.Gblock;907960 wrote:bad qb's in the league usually look bad from the start and stay that way..some start bad ie payton manning and get better(or their team gets better allowing them to play better)...i cant think of another qb that started this well that didnt end up staying that way..of course he is going to have some ups and downs especially when they get more tape on him, but overall he reminds me of how big ben came in and you could see from the beginning that he was going to be good, even tho he had some rough games and was also on a team that at times didnt need much from him -

troy aikman and doug williams i believe went like 1-15 their rookie years and did fine so im not concerned if they dont win that many games this year i still think he will be a good qb. they need to run the ball tho. tampa bay learned that lesson in their first 6 quarters this year and then started running the ball to come back and win last week. the run will allow the play action pass and also cut down on the pics. plus they paid d williams so much of their salary cap to not even use him.Heretic;907963 wrote:And even Manning's bad first season wasn't THAT bad. Discrediting his performance against the Cardinals because they don't play any defense isn't hating? You realize he did something that no other QB in NFL history did in that game right? It wasn't against a great defense for sure, but it was still against an NFL defense. -
Laley23When you are a top pick, you are on a bad team. If you think Carolina was gonna go like 10-6 than you are nuts. No matter what Cam does, Carolina is still a pretty bad team. Peyton Manning came into this league with arguably the top LT protecting him and a top 5 WR of all time in Marvin Harrison already on the team. Manning had a very solid rookie campaign with 25+ TDs and a lot of yards. Despite them going 3-13, you could tell Manning had it.
Not saying Cam is going to be Manning, but from the looks of things early on, he has it. Cam is in a lot of ways similar to Peyton coming in. Given the team, a good WR, and a pretty shitty team all around. The teams arent looking to win, but looking to improve and see what they have. I could see Cam being a really solid QB this season like Manning was on a crap team -

I believe I have said it was a great performance. However, it was against a horrid defense. SMH at you guys comparing him to the likes of Manning, Aikman, and Big Ben... he has played TWO games..He's looked good so far.karen lotz;908000 wrote:Discrediting his performance against the Cardinals because they don't play any defense isn't hating? I dont buy that you cant expect them to win games. This is the NFL, any team can beat any team on any given day. The Dolphins went 1-15 a few years ago and the next season were 11-5. -
SpeedofsandI don't think he's gonna pass for much today. Its raining in Charlotte like Niagra Falls. Just awesome to watch.

LOL. Using Skip Bayless to try and validate your point is almost as bad as you still thinking Troy Smith should be starting in the NFL.Pick6;933295 wrote:just wanted to bump this to say Mr. Bayless agrees with me. -

Ive retracted my comment saying that I think Smith should be starting for the 49ers.Iliketurtles;933441 wrote:LOL. Using Skip Bayless to try and validate your point is almost as bad as you still thinking Troy Smith should be starting in the NFL.
then again, he has his own tv show..so I'd say he knows more than you. -
karen lotzNo, him being on first take or whatever its called does not means he knows anything more than anyone else. He debates people like Rob Parker. Not exactly a ringing endorsement for a well thought discussion. Saying outlandish things and getting fired up over them on TV doesn't prove anything in regards to knowledge of a subject.

He debates stephen a. smith a lot of the time. He also gives open invites for whoever to debate him,big name stars usually, most turn it down.karen lotz;933472 wrote:No, him being on first take or whatever its called does not means he knows anything more than anyone else. karen lotzStephen A Smith is again not the best example for you to use to back up your argument. He is on the show basically because he will take the opposite view of Skip but still say outlandish things. I haven't seen the two of them together recently, but in the past it was a screaming match where neither of them made any sense. He has "debated" Lil Wayne in the past, does that mean its a good show and Skip should be given more credit? I do remember seeing on twitter that Ryan Clark of the Steelers put him in his place over the summer.

Pick6Skip calls it like he sees it. I guess thats why Im a fan of him. FWIW, he is a fan of Cam. He thinks Cam has a very good supported cast (like I said), and that its time he starts winning games (which I basically said).

Hb31187Steve Smith,Legadu Nanee, and Lafell is not a good set of Wr's for any QB. Shockey and Olsen look good on paper but arent doing much this year. And Williams has had 1 good game He is making his cast look better than it is, not the otehr way around IMO.

Williams and Stewart were considered one of, if not the best RB tandem in the league not too long ago. Smith Nanee and Lafell are probably better than half of the WR corps in the NFL. Especially since Smith is playing like its 2005 again.Hb31187;933610 wrote:Steve Smith,Legadu Nanee, and Lafell is not a good set of Wr's for any QB. Yeah they WERE, but this year theyre not exactly doing much of anything. As far as Smith Nanee and LAfell being top 1/2 of the league in Wr Corps...id honestly be surprised if they were (without looking and breaking down the teams)Pick6;933613 wrote:Williams and Stewart were considered one of, if not the best RB tandem in the league not too long ago. To be fair, they don't seem to be getting many carries and definitely not as many as years prior. Carolina has been trailing a lot and having Cam throw the ball like 40 plus times a game so their carries are down.Hb31187;933614 wrote:Yeah they WERE, but this year theyre not exactly doing much of anything.
