Maybe but 2 games into his career is way too early to tell regardless of how well he has played so far.

Chudzinski is their O-Coordinator and he was pass happy when he had Derek Anderson in 2007.

I know Cam Newton has throw for a lot of yards the last two games...but man my Packers' defense really needs to see what's wrong with their pass defense.

Wow. I hope these games aren't going to continue. This stuff is scary.

    Cam is the truth
  • SportsAndLady
Cam is the 1st player in NFL history to throw for 400+ yards in his first 2 games of career.

He is only the 6th player to ever do it in back to back games, period.

    Wowza

Cam is ridiculous. Threw 3 picks, but still 400 yards 2 games in a row? Thats nuts. Its early, but so far hes certainly silenced a wholllle lot of his haters who said he couldnt make any reads, or take snaps from under center, or pass accurately if they werent bubble screens lol

Picked him up in my ffb, either trade bait or bye week option... If they lose enough, maybe they can get top receiver.

INTs in a rookie year is meaningless. Peyton Manning had like 28.

I'll admit, he's looked pretty good. He was also picked up in my league.

Crazy to think of how mixed people were in their assessment of him.

Cam Newton has definitely looked great so far. But there seems to be a lot of inflated passing stats so far this year. 5 guys are on a pace through the first two games to break Marino's record for passing yards in a season, including Newton. I wonder if defenses, particularly secondaries, were hurt more by the lockout than offenses were and maybe we will see the gaudy stats start to decline as the year goes on.

enough sucking his dick.. his debut was pretty good against the Cardinals who dont play defense. Then he threw 3 interceptions against a good defense. Who cares how many yards he throws for. He is turning the ball over and his team is 0-2 and he has a great supporting cast. Olsen, Shockey, Williams, Stewart, Smith...he should be able to put up some yards.

He has a great supporting cast? smh

Obviously this debate is mostly subjective, but would any of you like to argue your point, or just say smh or LOL?

so over a day and neither of you bite. typical OC way

His weapons are nothing to drool over. Shockey isnt the Shockey who was on the Giants, Steve Smith is up and down, also coming off a horrible year and isnt the usual 6 foot+ Wr what a QB relies on. Hes a glorified slot Wr. The line is garbage, his #2 Wr is Brandon Lafell, his #3 Wr was a Quarterback in college.

Olsen and Williams are good yes, but stewart is a career backup and decent. Theres a reason they have the #1 pick, its not just because they didnt have a qb....its because they dont have a good team. Not complicated

Honestly, I am not ready to buy into the hype just yet. This season has had a weird start... passing is off the charts. But his passing hasn't led to a win yet. I think people are putting too much stock into his amount yards. Passing for huge amounts of yards doesn't win...

Will he be a bust? At this point that's doubtful. I think he'll be a good serviceable QB at minimum. Could he be great? Possibly. But I am not buying too much into his first two games. I will wait till after 2 years in the league to really judge.

actually I didn't see your post and I was LOL'ing at your "sucking his dick" part. There isn't anything to argue with that. The only reason you are hating on him is because he is already more successful as an NFL quarterback than Pryor will ever be. I could give a fuck about Cam Newton.

no reason to believe he wont get better not worse...hes only two games in, most qbs get better as they gain experience

I probably should have said pretty good instead of great. Shockey is still good..I mean he is ahead of Olsen on the depth chart. Edwards isnt the #3, Naanee is. Steve Smith is a top 10 wr in the league when healthy. I cant comment on the line because I really don't know.

Main point is, when is the last time a top 5 qb pick in the NFL has had these types of weapons around him immediately? Jamarcus Russell, Gabbert, Bradford, Alex Smith, Brady Quinn.. I could go on and on about top QBs taken that have nowhere near as much talent as Cam has been given right away.

Another example is Mark Sanchez...gets credit for being better than he is (by some people) because of the team around him.

ha ok. and i dont see where im hating on him, just not on his dick like the media.

huh? Sanchez is usually looked at as the reason the Jets can't get over the hump.

What?? From 2005-2010 he was 4th in the NFL in total receiving yards.
