HitsRusGrady's worst defense>>>>Zeke's best defense. That misplay yesterday let KC back in the game.
-
wes_mantoothLooks like the Tribe has a chance to creep a little closer and put some pressure on the Tigers...
Sox lead 8-1 in the fifth. -
HitsRus^^^...just as critical to keep ahead of the ChiSox.
-
dazedconfusedaccording to camino, this baby will be delayed - said about 45 min. at this point, you have to figure david huff is somehow related to noah with all the rain delays that seem to follow him around
-
BR1986FBTribe down 2-1 headed to the 2nd...
ChiSox trying to hold on up 8-6 with the Kitties batting, a man on 3rd & 1 out in the bottom of the 9th...scratch that 2R HR ties it 8-8 -
Laley23I hate other teams bullpens.
-
wes_mantoothlol...fuck you white sox....you are terrible.
-
BR1986FBF#############################################CK !!!!!!!!!!!!
-

BR1986FBNow all the Tribe has to do is lose to make it the perfect ending to a shitty day....
-
like_thatDetroit is not losing this division. It's their year to win it. They have won a lot of games this year where they had no business winning them.
-
royal_kFuck the Sux!
It's going to important to beat the kitties strait up. Can't rely on other teams to help. -
BRFWe gotta win this game.
-
Laley23Well, with Asdrubal out...my hopes are almost gone.
-
hoops23Tribe down 4-1 in the 6th.
Can't expect to do much with a AAAA lineup. Hochaver owns us.
Detroit may never lose again. -
Glory DaysTribe will finish 10+ games behind detroit.
-
HitsRus^^^ who cares how many games they finish behind Detroit...1 game is too many. The team is beat up and has suffered every adversity....and they are still competing. The only thing good about last nite was the look on Ozzie's face.....the guy is an #$%@.
That was a huge win for the Kitties. We need to pick up 2 games on them in next week or we are essentially done. -
FootwedgeDolan got a lot of excitement out of this 65 million dollar payroll. I look for him to sign Thome for 750K and line the field with minimum wagers next season.
-
HitsRusThe way things stand now, the Tribe is sitting at 69-67 and has 26 games left...the Tigers at 77-62 with 23 games left.
In order to TIE them the Tribe will need to go 19-7 IF the Tigers merely go 11-12 the rest of the way out. Not impossible, but pretty tough. Of course there is is still time for either team to put together a winning or losing streak. IF the tigers should hit a losing streak and go 9-14, then the Indians can catch them by going a very reasonable 16-10. Of course either a losing streak by the Tribe...or a winning streak by the Tigers pretty much ends it for the featherheads.
With head to head competition doubley important...this coming series with the Tigers is HUGE. -

The Tribe will draw 400,000 more than anticipated which will translate into a small bump in payroll for next season. The biggest question is what moves will be made in the off season. Whether Thome can still play another year is open to question....the more important decision will be what to do about Sizemore who will be in a team option year for $ 9 million. Not picking up that option would lose Grady, but create a lot of flexibility in what direction they would take. In the only thing that was said about that coming from the front office, was in an interview with Mark Shapiro who (didn't say so directly) talked as if Grady would be back next year. -
royal_kI like your optimism Hits. But I just don't see a winning streak happening with all of the injuries. We are playing with a lot of young guys that are getting their first extended time in the bigs. They almost have to sweep the last 6 games against Detroit and hope that the players coming back from injury can inject some offense. (Sizemore, Choo, and Kipnis) Detroit has been playing their best ball of the season over the last month, and it doesn't look like they will falter. But, there's still time.

If I was the owner, I would spend whatever it takes to acquire a good, major league catcher. I would not keep Sizemore nor Hafner. I would also see if I could land a third baseman. And finally, more pitching...but only a quality pitcher...not a middle of the packer like Ubaldo.HitsRus;882903 wrote:The Tribe will draw 400,000 more than anticipated which will translate into a small bump in payroll for next season. I think we are set at first, second, short and the outfield will sort itself out. -

I have no illusions/delusions....only the hope and optimism of a fan. These guys are playing hard and there does not seem to be any quit in them. They could have mailed it in after getting swept by Detroit, and losing the Seattle series the other week, but didn't. They deserve our attention and respect, and all the rooting we can give them. We all know that baseball fortunes can turn in a heartbeat. There is at least that hope to still cling to. We'll have a pretty good handle by next week if there is still a shred of hope.I like your optimism Hits. But I just don't see a winning streak happening with all of the injuries.
