Pryor in supplemental draft?

sportchamppsVery true jordo but does he lose his salary bc of this
-
SportsAndLadyHe can't practice or play in games for 5 weeks in a row...regardless of how much he'd play this year, losing 5 weeks of practice during the season is detrimental to his growth. A very small blow to his growth, but a blow nonetheless.

He wouldn't get paid during the suspension. -
jordo212000If I am in TP's corner, I wait until I sign my contract and then go to the Union and ask them to appeal. If that doesn't work I sue the NFL for violating anti-trust laws simply out of principle. At the very least you recoup the lost salary. On the other you are sticking it to Goodell.
With that being said, I'm not in TP's corner. I would have been smiling if they banned him all year -
karen lotzI think he and his camp have already said they won't appeal or sue because they'd be fighting an uphill battle. If he can get in the NFL, he will live with the circumstances. He's no where ready to play a snap in the NFL right now anyway

He would certainly have a case -

It doesn't matter if he appealed. Goodell is judge, jury and executioner. They could have the best case in the world and Goodell won't give a shit. By becoming a player, you agree to abide by his decisions, so court is out. -

If you sue for anti-trust, you wouldn't be subject to Goodell. He would be in a real court? -

Can't. Antitrust exemption went back into place with the new CBA -

The NFL can't arbitrarily restrict players from the opportunity to play in the NFL when the said player has already met all of the requirements to play in the NFL. As far as we know, TP hasn't done anything illegal. -

They aren't restricting him from playing in the NFL. They are telling him that he can play in the NFL, and that if he does, he becomes subject to the CBA, and as such, when he is subject, he will be suspended 5 games. -

They are restricting him from playing for 5 games. I hate TP but he did nothing to warrant a penalty from the NFL. -

They are not restricting him from signing a contract, which is all that matters. -
thavoiceI know he said dont look for this to be a precedent but i wouldnt be opposed to it being one. A number of colllege kids are breaking the rules, they dont get found out until way after the fact, and some of them get off scott free and making their $$$$ in the NFL, whereas the school, coaches feel the brunt of the sanctions.
So why not hold them accountable? If they can prove this stuff against bush, hester, etc etc etc then why not hit them in their pocketbooks? I know they are two diff leagues, different entitites but many of these offenders are leaving behind a soiled university and coach and they are living the good life. -
karen lotzPryor ran a 4.41 unofficial 40, measured out at 6'5" 232. Tressel was there and offered his phone number to scouts who wanted more info on Pryor.

The two guys most responsible for getting us into a serious situation with the NCAA hold a special place in your heart? Wow. Some people really will defend Tress no matter whatimex99;868477 wrote: Will always be a tressel/Pryor supporter. -

Yes, both did wrong... They broke ncaa rules that need/will be changed sooner than later.
People treat Pryor and Tress if they drove drunk and killed people or bought and used drugs. They broke ncaa rules.... They trying to punish Pryor to start his nfl career, pretty crappy.

sleeperI will always support Tressel. I will never support Pryor.

robj55I saw on ESPN that he ran a 4.36 unofficial, that's crazy fast for someone his size.
