lol, the prospects we "threw away" were garbage in the 1st place.

Two guys who probably will never see the big leagues, quite honestly.

You never know. We threw two pieces of garbage for one piece of garbage. What is the point? At least give the two pieces of garbage a chance.

Cliff Lee was never thought to be anything more than a #4 starter, and he's turned out to be the best pitcher in the League. Give them a chance or at least use them for a useable player. Fukudome is trash.

I'm tired of giving prospective pieces of garbage a chance...

Hitting prospects haven't been panning out too well for us. The only guy I honestly have faith in is Carlos Santana because I think he's having a productive year outside of the batting average.

LaPorta is garbage, Chiz and Kipnis haven't impressed me too much either... What offense do we really have?

I'm tired of building for the future. We have been doing that since 2001 with 1 playoff appearance to show for it. We have some great pitching prospects that I wouldn't touch, but just about everybody else is available IMO.

You just never know year to year how the bullpen will perform either. 2007 the guys were lights out, 2008 they couldn't finish any game with a lead. When you have a chance to make the playoffs, you HAVE to take it.

And despite all the BS play from the team, they're still in the division race as of now.

Huh? I thought Cliff Lee was going to be a very, very good pitcher. A lot of people did.

Cliff Lee also did well in the minors. The two guys we traded were not. Smith is a AAAA player who had a near 5 ERA in triple A as a reliever..

Abner Abreu has been in single A for 3 years and has over 100 k's in 300 AB's. Sorry, I don't think we lost much in the single A Russell Branyan.

Fukudome is solid player, one I wouldn't mind keeping past this year at the right price.

Fukudome isn't trash. He's not an all star either. But he's much better than Kearns or Buck, and the 2 guys they traded had little to no chance at sniffing the bigs.

Since when? I think most people had him slated as a #2 starter. He and Phillips were MUST HAVES in the deal to Montreal.

Dolan is that you? Please Gtfo if you think the fukudome trade was awful. The tribe gave up 2 career minor leaguers for a top 15 obp guy

Well, pretty soon we find out if the Tribe drops to .500 even. Let's see, last two game re-cap, no hit and then shut out. As I type, Rosenhouse says the Indians are working "feverishly" to make some trades. Ha ha!

    Tigers lose. Must win tonight.
  • Laley23
Fuck. We have basically traded for Ubaldo. Kipnis, White and Pomeranz are centerpieces. Not all 3, but I would assume 2.

    Pomeranz also scratched tonight.
  • Glory Days
well, looks like a perfect game is in the works for a guy who cant buy a win on the mound.
  • Laley23
I guess the Rockiers asked for Pomeranz, Chiz, and Kipnis. No word on what we countered with. I hope to GOD they didnt give in and make that deal.

We better get a stud hitter thrown in if that is the trade...no reason to mortgage the future if you aren't getting a bat in the deal.

I agree. Word is that was what they wanted/offered. Im sure we countered with less on our end, or more on their end. This is the type of deal that may not be done till tomorrow as each team tries to call the others bluff.

On that note, it could also fall through.

If Pomeranz is in this deal, I will throw up.

White and Pomeranz both scratched tonight. White was throwing a rehab game and Pom was throwing at Akron...you can't beat teams 1-0 the rest of the season, so unless they are getting a bat too this is mortgaging the future to finish out of the playoffs

Hopefully that means it was just because both were in negotiations. I wouldnt mind White, but I dont want Pomeranz dealt.

Until Ubaldo is scratched I don't think there is anything going on....still scheduled to pitch tonight

agreed. We have an hour I guess.

The fact that they are talking about it during the telecast makes me thinks that something is up.
  • Laley23
Most recent news is Kip, White, and Pomeranz all being talked about. I swear to God if we trade all 3 for Ubaldo I will kill someone
