I think the Chiz Kid was around 47 at the start of training camp (ie preseason ranking). I take more stock into Law's evaluations than his actual rankings.

    Gotcha. Thanks

Yeah the rankings Olney used were from January. A lot has changed since then.

This is every team's top 10 prospects...

Freeman and Kimbrel have been up since Opening Day with Freeman starting at 1B and Kimbrel holding down the closer's role all year. Teheran (10-1, 1.70 at AAA) has made a couple starts, Minor has made a couple starts and the other 2 top 5 guys are at AA and are 20 years old.

    NO ******** WAY

And I guess the latest thing going around is Philadelphia has said they won't give up Brown or their top pitching prospect for Beltran. Atlanta is considering Minor for Beltran. I don't like it.

That's what I'd think. Harang's an aging pitcher whose career is being extended by playing in a park where his fly balls stay in instead of going out.

I definitely agree. I want kuroda. He would fit in nicely with the tribe
  • royal_k
Want nothing to do with Harang as well.

If ya want quality you have to trade quality. The Indians seem unwilling to do that. So forget about Beltran or any other 'name' player.

I will believe it when I see it.....I don't trust this douchey front office

Peter Gammons reported that we offered a "good" player and offered to take on some salary but Beltran said no. Gammons implied it was one of the Big 4 (Chiz, Kipnis, White, Pomeranz). If that's the case I'm glad he turned it down.

I wouldve given up Chiz for Beltran. 3rd Baseman can be had, imo. But I dont like to trade players up the middle or pitching. RF, LF, 3B, and 1B I usually have no issue trading for a player who will help.

I agree. Only way I give up one of those 4 is for a proven player who has multiple years left on his contract, NOT a rent-a-bat.

I'd be fucking pissed if we did that deal. Esp White/Pomeranz. Never trade good pitching IMO.

I simply don't want Beltran....he is old and made a whole bunch of money off of one great postseason. I was never a fan of his so maybe I am biased.

The Mets didn't decline, Beltran did. Trade clause.

    From mlbtraderumors.com
The Indians offered to pick up all of Beltran's remaining contract and give the Mets a good player in return according to MLB.com's Peter Gammons, but Cleveland was not a fit for the Scott Boras client. Heyman reports (on Twitter) that the deal was never presented to Beltran, so the Mets must know the which teams he'll accept a trade to

yeah, I think beltran has let it be known where he would go....there were reports last week that he wouldn't accept going to the tribe.

The Giants win, the Giants win, the Giants win...... Beltran.

Thrilled that the Mets are getting Wheeler for Beltran, love getting the Giants #1 pitching prospect for a rental. Well done Sandy!
