Laley23Spurs are REAL solid this year, not sure you can group them with Everton or Southampton, OSH.

I understand that...but Tottenham is NOT United. And...it's also AVB...Laley23;1531733 wrote:Spurs are REAL solid this year, not sure you can group them with Everton or Southampton, OSH. -

I see 2 World Class players in that list. Take Chelsea or City for example. Besides Rooney and RVP, which players on that list get on either of those 11's consistently?OSH;1531669 wrote:
Where is this team lacking? Rooney, RvP, Chicharito, De Gea, Januzaj, Evra, Ferdinand, Giggs, Smalling, Vidic, Carrick, Jones, Nani (even though I am not a fan), Welbeck, Cleverley, Kagawa, Buttner, Zaha, Young, and now Fellaini. That's a solid roster of players. There's even more that have done the job in the past and are still capable.

De Gea for sure. I think Cleverly would also. Probably even Rafael. -

You are really overvaluing what Man U has this season. That team is full of players who wouldnt come close to cracking the line-ups of the worlds best. They have 3 TOP players in RVP, Rooney and De Gea...and then Vidic who used to be but is way past his prime. That is honestly right on par with Spurs, and they may have better depth at the top.OSH;1531833 wrote:

We disagreed on AVB last year, and will again. I think his criticism is slightly unwarranted. He has been great at Spurs and was not given a chance in hell at Chelsea. -

No way. Rafael is the most overrated player to come through the ranks in a long time for them. Ok, maybe Valencia...Ytowngirlinfla;1531838 wrote:De Gea for sure. I think Cleverly would also. Probably even Rafael. -

Have you watched any United games? Rafael is not overrated at all. He definitely changes the team and is really good but he's injured right now. Valencia is pretty good sometime he disappears but he is very active and can play multiple positions.Laley23;1531841 wrote:No way. I also forgot about Evra he's a good left back and Rio was really good, I don't know what happened this year but he would start for most every team if he was in form. -

I never really said much about AVB. I don't really have a decision on him, yet. I just like to poke at him because it's the "hot" thing to do. Just like Tottenham, I don't really have much to say about them...but, if I were to want a team to do better than any others in the BPL, it would be Tottenham (I don't like any others except for United!).Laley23;1531840 wrote:You are really overvaluing what Man U has this season. There are numerous players that United has that many others would love to have. Januzaj, could be the top young player. Nani would be a big money player for any other squad. Welbeck and Cleverley are top young Englishmen. Fellaini is part of the reason why Belgium is hot, and part of the reason why Everton was anything too. Any defender that United has IS better than Koscielny... -

We are taking about United here though...Ytowngirlinfla;1531891 wrote:Have you watched any United games? Rafael is not overrated at all. They do not have a top 11 squad, not close at the moment.
Barca, Real, Bayern, City, Chelsea etc. They have 1 maybe 2 guys who could crack the top XI on those squads. Im not saying United is terrible or Rafael is terrible. But, we are used to this team being top 3 and having top 3 talent in the world and they havent for awhile. Sir Alex made up for a lot of weak spots and players who arent top notch at their position compared to other mega clubs.
At the moment, I would put Uniteds talent outside the top 10 overall. Not far outside, but outside.
As for Rafael, I stand by my statement of overrated. People talk about him like he is the next great back in the world. Dude cant even crack the Brazil bench for friendlies. Again, not BAD, but overrated. -
Ytowngirlinfla
Hands down United has the 2 best forwards in the league with Rooney and Van Persie. No way you can even compare city right now. Yes they have a ton of talent but they are 2 points above us and have had an iffy season also with a manager change. I put this all on Moyes, he's a shitty coach period. I didn't like the hire at all, it was all because Moyes and Sir Alex are from Scotland, it was a backdoor hook up. If you watch United play this year, I've seen every game, they are playing so inconsistent and it seems he can't go with the same lineup more than 1 game in a row. You can't get flow like that. I think he's gone sooner than later.Laley23;1531935 wrote:We are taking about United here though...

I said Rooney and RVP are world class...
I never said Moyes was a good hire, but I DO think people are passing too much judgement too quickly because Im not sure any hire would come in and do any better. I just dont think the talent is there to be a top team in Europe. -
Ytowngirlinfla
We definitely don't have the central midfield and central defense talent that is needed to be tops in Europe. I will agree with that. Hopefully we can pick up some players in January. I just don't like the Moyes hire because he wasn't successful at Everton and he is coaching here like he is still there. While I agree people deserve a chance, watching every game he makes really questionable decisions. I would have taken Mourinho even if he can be a cancer to a team. BTW I love talking soccer. Only my husband and 1 coworker watch soccer. It's actually how I met and was instantly hooked on my hubby. He's a huge United fan too. Thanks for the convo.Laley23;1532122 wrote:That didnt really address anything I am saying though.

Januzaj will be good, but wouldn't start for Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, City or Arsenal right now.OSH;1531898 wrote:I never really said much about AVB. I don't really have a decision on him, yet. Nani wouldnt start for any of those teams besides possible Liverpool, either.
Welbeck, Cleverly , and (possibly although I think he has the best chance of starting) Fellani would be subs as well.
They don't have top 3 talent. It's pretty clear. -

Exactly my thoughts. Without the Sir Alex effect, United are back to hovering around where their talent belongs, 4-6 in the table. -
Fab1bAnyone see the end to the Chelsea game? Horrible call allows Chelsea to get a PK in stoppage!
