Wow. That is one of the worst "non" calls I have ever seen.

    This guy is TERRIBLE.
  • wildcats20
Basically saying there that you can at anytime just pull a guy down by his jersey with NO penalty.

    Can't handle Robbie's pace son!!

Too bad all 15 other MLS clubs can.......

Kind of excited now though to plug Holden, Altidore and Dempsey back into this mix

No kidding. I want to see some more of the young guys too, I wouldn't mind seeing Freddy get a shot against Belgium or Costa Rica. At least as a sub.

    So fucking close.

I will take 1-1, especially given our lineup and how the game started (aka, the first half). Good stuff late in the game. Looked the better side for a good chunk of minutes there. Jurgen Klinsmann has NEVER lost to Mexico as the USA coach, wooooo! :)
  • Automatik
After the awful first half I'll take it.

Are Jermaine Jones' days numbered? I can't remember the last time I watched him and didn't come away thinking he sucked.
  • chicago510
In Jurgen we trust! Truly a tale of two halves.
  • wildcats20
OK so those 2 looks on the Rodgers goal, it looked a lot cleaner than it did at first.
  • chicago510
I know I would 100x rather play for Jurgen than Bradley, but what do I know.

Nice to see the US was able to tie it. I was only able to catch bits and pieces of the 1st and early second half...

I'm still trying to "get a team" in terms of overseas clubs... I have interest in ManU, Inter, and FC Barcelona..

I'm a huge fan of Wayne Rooney, Inter fell a few notches due to the flopping I've witnessed, and I completely respect the way Barca continues to build it's club.

Just me, or is Beckerman a total hack? Ugh.
He has a great first touch and is creative he just needs to play more simple some times and develop more of a shot

Don't know if it was mentioned, but the MLS reached a deal with NBC starting next season..

I know this was a friendly, but Jesus Christ was that a bad team Jurgen decided to run out for his 1st match as manager. Brek played well, but that's about it.

Edson Buddle starting? Really? If Kyle Beckerman ever gets another call up we should be dropped out of the top 100 in the FIFA rankings. Castillo was worthless too. Basically, I sure hope Klinsman has better changes in mind than the lineup he ran out there tonight. I don't doubt he will, but that was not a good setup tonight at all.

Label me also not a Jermaine Jones fan. I've never seen anything in him. He's average at best.

As sad as it is, it's the friendlies that show how bad we really are as a nation. Once you get past out first team and top starters, we could get beat by anyone.

I agree about Jermaine Jones. I think hes below average for US

    My thoughts:

I HATE ESPN!!! I missed 20 minutes of the game because of the stupid LLWS!!! STUPID STUPID STUPID!!!

But really, from missing the first 20, I think I missed almost a majority of the bad soccer that the USMNT played -- that being the first half. It looked as if there was some adjustments made in the second half (could be one of the first times in years that that has happened). I am not going to be too critical of Klinsmann, can't be. He's had the team all of 2 weeks?!?! He is only limited to what he can control -- he can't get many players since many international leagues start up this weekend. He made adjustments. He wanted to see what people had to offer. He said he wasn't going to change much at first. So...give him time.

I thought Beckerman was tremendous last night. His work rate. His touch. His vision. He played so smooth. I have not always been a Beckerman fan either. But, I will give him props for last night. He played consistently. He knew when to attack and knew when to possess. He didn't force much.

Not a fan of Buddle's and Jones' play. I don't think they do a whole lot. It'd be nice to see more from them OR see them lose a spot.

I thought Landycakes played at a tempo in the second half that we haven't seen in quite some time. He seemed to be dictating the tempo instead of the opponent dictating the tempo. Again, not a fan of Landycakes, but I was impressed with his pace last night. I would've liked to see some better decisions and more crisp on the ball at times (for instance, a better weighted pass when we had a 3v2 transition).

I have been impressed with what Brek has done for FC Dallas this season. It's good to see that getting rewarded. I do see him staying in the MLS for another year and potentially making a move overseas. He's a fine player. Good strength on the ball. Makes a lot of good decisions. Seems to be in the right place.

Good job by Robbie to finish a ball that was put on a platter by Brek. Robbie showed a burst of speed that I haven't seen [ever!].

All in all, I am happy that Klinsmann was able to get a draw out of the game where we may not have had favorable decisions come our way. I think he needed it for a morale boost. I think the USMNT needed it. It was also a pieced together team. As mentioned above, throw in Stuart Holden and Dempsey, it'd be interesting. I may even mention a personal favorite right now, Benny Feilhaber. We missed several, but Mexico also didn't have Chicharito...

As mentioned elsewhere, Klinsmann had "fun." It's something that hasn't really been seen from the manager's [and team's] perspective. That's great! A little emotion and excitement will never hurt them.

    New Freddy Adu rumor!!!

Chivas USA are interested in acquiring him!!!

If he plays like we've seen him recently...it'd be great for the MLS!

Too bad he'd go to Chivas. But you're right, good for MLS. I'd be anxious to see how he would do getting regular playing time instead of riding the pine in Europe/playing in the Turkish Second Division.

The game was shown in its entirety on ESPNews and espn3.com

Haven't seen Donovan play like that in quite some time? Have you been watching much him alately? I've been rather critical of him for most of his career and since the last WC my opinion has changed lately. I've been pleased with his play all over from the US team, to Everton and back to the MLS. He is no doubt our best player.
