    Your right brazil is the only team to win in the opposite hemisphere. East/west ( I forgot about them ) I've heard a lot of players make the argument that this is because of the playing surfaces and the difference in grasses changing the speed of the game. I know when I played in Europe the grass was thicker and slowed the ball down some. Just something to think about for next year.

    20.17 BST: Sticking in France, where Rennes president Frederic de Saint-Sernin has issued a hands-off warning to suitors of Romain Alessandrini. He has been linked to Marseille but De Saint-Sernin told L'Equipe: "I repeat that Romain Alessandrini will not leave Stade Rennais this season."

    19.51 BST: Evian have confirmed the signing of last season's Ligue 2 Player of the Year Nicolas Benezet from Nimes, with the midfielder putting pen to paper on a four-year contract.

    19.37 BST: Stoke chairman Peter Coates insists Steven Nzonzi is going nowhere unless it's in the club's interests to sell him, saying: "Mark Hughes will decide on that situation but he is our player and is under contract. He has said he has designs to play at the highest level. Well, he needs to play well to attract these clubs and I hope he does."

    19.16 BST: A great example here of the topsy turvy nature of the transfer window - It appears William Vainqueur's potential move to England is now off. Sources close to the player indicate he will sign a new deal with Standard Liege that will be announced tomorrow. Oh the transfer window.

    19.02 BST: Standard Liege midfielder William Vainqueur could be set for a move to the Premier League. The 24-year-old has previously been linked with both Fulham and Newcastle, with reports in Belgium claiming he has cancelled his contract with Liege, informing them he is set to join a foreign team. Seeming to confirm the news, he tweeted: "We are in the heart of the process so I can not say anything. But I will explain soon. I respect the supporters of Standard [Liege] as I respected the Jersey for 2 years."

    16.23 BST - DONE DEAL: Bury have brought in midfielder Andy Procter, who left Preston last week. The 30-year-old has agreed a two-year deal with the Shakers.

    16.15 BST: Steve Clarke used to coach at Chelsea. Nicolas Anelka used to play for Chelsea. Anelka’s short-term deal with Juventus in Serie A is finished and will, it is reported, not be renewed.

    So there are a few suggestions that Anelka could be breezing into The Hawthorns over the summer to come and play for Clarke’s West Bromwich Albion as they look for a replacement for Romelu Lukaku, back at Chelsea after his blistering loan spell with the Baggies last season. We’ll see.

    15.55 BST - DONE DEAL: Midfielder Luke Murphy is steaming out of Crewe, disappearing down the tracks to join Leeds United on a three-year contract. Leeds boss Brian McDermott is delighted with his capture, telling the club’s official website: "He's a player I've known for a long time. I've watched his career progress, and I feel he was the best player in his division last year."

    15.40 BST - DONE DEAL: Winger Lee Molyneux has joined Crewe after his Accrington Stanley contract expired, agreeing a two-year contract with the Railwaymen.

    15.30 BST: Blackburn attacking midfielder Mauro Formica is being linked with a move to Abu Dhabi, where Bani Yas want to offer him sunnier weather than Lancashire.

    14.50 BST: Andreas Cornelius is pretty happy about his move to Cardiff, telling the club’s official website: "This is a dream come true for me.

    "I've been given a great opportunity and this is a very exciting project that's taking place at Cardiff City. I'm very happy to be here and to be playing for this club in the Premier League."

    14.45 BST: New Wigan manager Owen Coyle has an eye on Newcastle defender James Perch, according to reports, and could be lining up a bid to bring him to the DW Stadium.

    14.40 BST: Birmingham may be about to lose Nathan Redmond, but they are favourites to gain Mansfield forward Matt Green, according to Field Mill manager Paul Cox. Green has spent time on trial with the Blues, and Cox said: “We have been planning for life without Matt."

    14.10 BST - DONE DEAL: Newly-promoted Cardiff City have wrapped up the signing of Denmark international striker Andreas Cornelius, who joins the Bluebirds from FC Copenhagen subject to international clearance. Cornelius, 20, moves to Wales on a five-year deal.

    13.50 BST: Mario Gomez seems set for a move from Bayern Munich after being left out of the squad for the first friendly matches under new coach Pep Guardiola. Germany international Gomez, 27, has already spoken of his desire to leave the Treble-winners so he can play in “100% of games" at another club, and has been linked with Fiorentina.

    13.30 BST: Germany’s Express newspaper has reported that Bayer Leverkusen have turned down an Arsenal offer of almost £20 million for Germany international midfielder Lars Bender.

    13.10 BST - DONE DEAL: Defender Craig Forsyth has completed his move to Derby County from Watford, with the fee for the full-back undisclosed.

    13.05 BST: The Birmingham Mail is reporting that Birmingham City winger Nathan Redmond will opt to link up with his former St Andrews manager Chris Hughton at Norwich City.

    The paper says the England Under-21 winger will move to Carrow Road in a deal that could potentially reach £3.2 million. Both the Canaries and Swansea were reported to have agreed a fee with the Blues for the 19-year-old.

    13.00 BST: Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has said the club have held negotiations and agreed terms with Swansea over the potential sale of striker Bafetimbi Gomis. Gomis has reportedly turned down potential moves from the club - who need a cash boost - leaving Aulas to express his frustration. Maybe this time, though?

    12.35 BST: Walsall manager Dean Smith says the Saddlers did everything they could to keep striker Will Grigg but were eventually powerless to prevent him from moving to Brentford. The succinct Smith said: "I'd like to wish Will all the best but - as he's moved to a club at our level, in League One - I can't at this moment in time."

    12.30 BST: Spurs defender Grant Hall is training with Swindon Town and could join the club on loan next season, theSwindon Advertiser has said.

    12.15 BST: Burnley aren't terribly thrilled by reports that their prolific striker Charlie Austin is on his way to pastures new with Steve Bruce, Hull and the Premier League. The Clarets used their official Twitter account to say: "Contrary to media reports, Burnley Football Club has not agreed any deal with Hull City for striker Charlie Austin."

    12.00 BST: Montpellier’s Morocco international midfielderYounes Belhanda has moved to Dynamo Kiev.

    Belhanda, 23, who came through Montpellier's youth academy to play an integral role in the club's surprise 2011-12 Ligue 1 title win, had been told he could leave after owner Louis Nicollin said his wages had become too much for a side without European football next season.

    10.40 BST - DONE DEAL: Oh, he did like to be beside the seaside: former Blackpool defender Alex Baptiste, part of the Seasiders’ exhilarating rise to the Premier League under Ian Holloway, has moved to their Lancashire neighbours Bolton on a three-year contract.

    10.30 BST - DONE DEAL: Sunderland again – this time, it's a defender. Here’s the club’s official Twitter: “SAFC have secured the services of highly sought-after defender Modibo Diakite after his deal with Italian giants Lazio expired.”

    10.17 BST: Midfielder Danny Murphy will be leaving Blackburn after his contract at Ewood Park was cancelled by mutual consent. Murphy joined from Fulham last season, signing a two-year deal.

    10.15 BST: Paris Saint-Germain’s Maxwell has said he will see out his contract with the Ligue 1 champions but could yet choose to finish his career in his native Brazil.

    The former Ajax and Inter Milan defender told Globoesporte: "My objective is to stay until the end of my contract in 2015. We'll see what comes along after that. I'll look at the offers."

    10.10 BST: Bristol City, newly relegated to League One, have confirmed that they have rejected two bids for highly-rated winger Albert Adomah, who has reportedly been interesting Premier League clubs. In what could well be the day’s shortest statement – already - City added: “The club plans to make no further comment at this time.”

    10.00 BST: Free agent Lee Croft is training with Millwall as he searches for a new club. Winger Croft left Oldham Athletic at the end of last season.

    09.50 BST - DONE DEAL: Walsall striker Will Grigg has signed for Brentford, with reports suggesting that he turned down a four-year Saddlers deal to move to Griffin Park.

    09.30 BST - DONE DEAL: Paolo Di Canio’s reshaping of Sunderland continues apace, with the Black Cats boss completing the signing of defender Valentin Roberge.

    The French central defender, 25, who was a free agent after his contract with Maritimo came to an end, has put pen to paper on a three-year contract.

    09.30 BST - DONE DEAL: Championship play-off finalists Watford have signed 18-year-old striker Uche Ikpeazu, who scored 28 goals in 28 games for Reading's Under-18s, on a three-year contract.

    "At 18 he is still young, but he's a very bright prospect and we're looking forward to seeing him progress under Gianfranco Zola," Watford technical director Gianluca Nani told the club’s official website.

    09.15 BST: Reports in Italy say AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani expects to hold talks with highly-rated and much sought-after forward Stephan El Shaarawy about his future this week – an improved contract could be on the way. Meanwhile, Simone Perrotta could retire from football after his Roma deal was not extended.

    09.05 BST: From Naples to Birmingham, where life at City has been increasingly uncertain in recent, financially-troubled times. However, there could be some good news for manager Lee Clark, who is reportedly close to signing centre-halves Kyle Bartley and Dan Burn in loan deals from Swansea City and Fulham respectively, according to the Sunday Mercury.

    However, Clark is set to lose England Under-21 winger Nathan Redmond in the near future, with Norwich – managed by former Birmingham boss Chris Hughton – in the frame for his signature.

    09.00 BST: Napoli striker Edinson Cavani, one of the most talked-about transfer targets of the summer so far, will discuss his future with the club once he has returned to Italy after taking a break following the Confederations Cup.

    Cavani, Serie A’s top scorer last season with 29 goals, is attracting interest from top European clubs including Manchester City and Chelsea.

    The 26-year-old Uruguay international, who scored a brace against Italy in the Confederations Cup’s third-place play-off on Sunday, said now was not the right time to discuss his future. That means club president Aurelio De Laurentiis, who reportedly wants €65 million for his star man, will just have to wait and see whether anyone comes forward with that sort of money.

    08.30 BST: More on that double Tottenham signing from Dinamo Zagreb – the Croatian club’s president, Mirko Barisic, believes it will be wrapped up soon and has backed Halilovic to become a better player than his compatriot Luka Modric, a one-time White Hart Lane favourite.

    "A lot of people have compared him to Luka Modric - but he’s better than Luka was at this age," he says. No pressure there, then.

    07.00 BST: David Moyes' reign at Manchester United officially starts on Monday, and the former Everton boss is targeting Benfica's Ezeguiel Garay as one of his first signings.

    The Daily Mirror says Moyes is a big admirer of the defender and has been given the go-ahead to table a £17 million bid. Benfica have reportedly lined up Garay's fellow Argentine Lisandro Ezequiel Lopez, of Arsenal de Sarandi, as a replacement.

    The paper also says Moyes is continuing to pursue the signing of Leighton Baines, with whom he worked during his time at Everton.

    Tottenham may have swooped in ahead of London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea for two Croatian wonderkids, according toThe Sun. Dinamo Zagreb pair Alen Halilovic and Tin Jedvaj are on the brink of a move to White Hart Lane, with Andre Villas-Boas believed to be close to wrapping up a £17 million deal for the pair. Halilovic, an attacking midfielder, and Jedvaj, a central defender, are both 17.

    Manchester City could also miss out on one of their key transfer targets this summer, with Cardiff City reportedly set to steal in and sign Benfica's Oscar Cardozo.

    City have been linked with Cardozo for some time, but the Daily Mail claims the 30-year-old could instead be bound for Wales, with the Bluebirds eager to pair new signing Andreas Cornelius with an experienced forward.

    Cardozo's proposed move to Fenerbahce fell through, leaving the door open for a potential switch to the Premier League in the coming weeks.

    No. Spain is still #1 and the pressure Brazil will be under will be too much to handle in my opinion. Also, Neymar is one of the worst divers out there.
