I thought he was fine. Its nice to listen to a guy I can understand for once.

I thought Gus was great. There were points where you could tell he was still learning (a few times there would be times without anyone speaking) but he gives the same passion and excitement for Soccer as he does Basketball which is amazing for the sport in our country.

Gus was good, considering I think it was only like his 2nd or 3rd soccer broadcast ever. Id like to see him get more excited about plays/loose balls in the box. But I think he will learn that is the time to do it in time.

Both teams missed a lot of chances, but I have no idea how Van Persie didn't finish that chance he had.
  • Terry_Tate
Damn I can't wait to hear Gus call a soccer match. Can't wait until he's calling one and someone wins it with a goal in the 91st minute or something.

    Fucking hell, Arsenal blows.

And Bayern Munich is on point this year, they could very well win the whole thing.

I'm an Arsenal fan....I had some coworkers clowning me after the game. I said before I'd be thrilled with a scoreless draw, but I felt and assbeating was imminent.

Of course they had no clue that Bayern is 15 points clear in the table, 1 loss, unbeaten in their last 19, and conceded 7 goals in all of league play.

But yes, they do blow. They are terribly inconsistent and they just flat out lack playmakers in the midfield, the back line is shotty, blah blah...I could go on for days. A major shake up has to be coming. Sorry Wenger, you've done well, but your time is up.

Settling in for this Barca-Milan match, in Italy. Should be a great one.

Have Galatassary-Schalke on the flip. Drogba and Sneijder in the line-up for the Turks with Jermaine Jones in MF for the Germans. Great day of UCL Soccer.
  • Laley23
And Jermaine Jones gets the equilizer. 1-1 at the half.

Jones and DeMarcus Beasley are the only Americans to ever score in the CL Knockout Rounds.

    Down goes Barca, 2-0. Wowwww.
  • hoops23
First time in a LONG time that Barca lost by 2 goals, I believe...

Seems Messi only puts up those 4 goal matches going against Ronaldo or those creampuffs in La Liga.

    Stop
  • Laley23
lol. Messi scored 4 in the CL versus the EPL and Arsenal. Lets not forget the 2 versus the EPL in the UCL Finals also. Please dont act like Messi isnt good versus the rest of Europe.

La Liga is probably the #1 league in the European competitions right now. Though, in 2 weeks that might no longer be the case when all their teams are out lol.

This could be pretty awesome: http://www.chicagobusiness.com/article/20130220/BLOGS04/130229978/lionel-messi-other-soccer-stars-in-talks-to-play-at-soldier-field
FC Barcelona and Argentina national team soccer star Lionel Messi and 35 of the world's top soccer players are lining up a "Messi & Friends" exhibition game at Soldier Field on July 6, according to the Miami-based sports marketing company Numero 5 Producciones LLC, which is putting on the event.

meh not very recent examples. I wont deny La Liga is the best at the top, but they arent best top to bottom. That still goes to the EPL. I wont deny Messi is the probably the best in the world, just get tired of the infatuation with him like he is the best ever. Do something on the international level and then we can talk. I have only followed soccer for a few years, and what I have seen from Messi on the big stage isnt that impressive. Thats probably a knock on my argument, but thats what I have as my sample.

    This was my favorite :)

Well just do some basic research. He's going to have a case to be considered the GOAT when it's all said and done.

He scored a goal in the CL final and was man of the match when they clowned United. I'd say that stage is rather large.
