over the span of 30 games?

Renteria sure as hell better get some hits tonite....

3 game winning streak heading into the break. Actually wasn't it a 4 game sweep in Philly last year before the break? Hope that doesn't happen again.

Two caught stealings on Stubbs in two innings. Does not top BPs two caught stealings in one inning early last night.

Nice AB by Renteria....no way Cozart could've struck out that well....

    Luckily, Votto takes one oppo!!

If that really was a hit and run, Edgar HAS to make some sort of contact. If it was just a straight steal, then Stubbs has gotten slower.

    And Joey goes oppo.

    BP with a double. Nice.

Right now to me that is 6 out of 7 games......but if Renteria some how got hot...that number dwindles some as the Reds need the best player to win each game...still a race. Just looking at numbers Renteria hits tonight's pitcher pretty well and hits Saturday's pitcher very well.....if he goes 3/4 tonight with 2 RBI.....I have a lot of trouble not playing him tomorrrow against a guy he's had much success against.....but anything less than a very good game and Cozart gets Sat and Sunday......and then start him after the break and let him play a lot...as long he is decent and Renteria is not hot.
Renteria's botched hit and run in the first, costing Stubbs a CS, is a big step toward Cozart starting Saturday night.

Absolutely. He has hit some real, real hard balls lately.

Lets not throw any fastballs to Weeks...

Fuckin' Renteria....sure glad he got the start...stellar thus far...

Nothing like making 4 outs. Jesus did Alzheimer's kick in?

who's leading the error dept, Janish or Edgar?
  • se-alum
Lol...terrible call on the Heisey strikeout.
  • dave
Heisey just took it up the ass.

He has got to stop trying to pull those pitches on the outer third and especially beyond. If I recall correctly, his hot streak in May was predated in the week or ten days prior to getting hot by taking a lot of balls to the left side, although not that many were hits, but at least he had the proper mind-set, and things fell in to place for a stellar May.

If I were Leake, I work that outside corner. He just got two terrible strike calls against him out there.

Janish 9 errors in 271 chances
Renteria 9 errors in 176 chances
  • wildcats20
Damn why are they throwing at Edgar?!?!?

    :)
  • mhs95_06
Renteria paid for Stubbs leaning out over the plate to get the single on the low outside pitch!
  • dave
If only that was a little more up the arm toward the wrist

Renteria getting hit raises further the chances of Cozart starting tomorrow.
  • wildcats20
Nowhere near the zone and you give him that?? Come on.
