Reds @ Orioles--game 1

SportsAndLadyBaltimore's starter has a very weird picture
Lineups coming up.
Volquez on the mound tonight...need a good outing from him. -
thavoiceUgh.
Volquez.
I think an interesting vbookie bet tonite would be will EV have more WALKS or RUNS given up in the first inning tonite. -
SportsAndLadyVolquez did do okay last outing (which was his worst outing since the return from Louisville) with strikeouts and walks...8 ks, 2 bbs
However he did give up the 4 runs.
I have a feeling he's going to see that and go, well, i need to be more accurate...and walk a lot more batters tonight. Hope I'm wrong. -
Ironman92I can't do a vbookie from my phone and probably won't be home in time go do one.
-
Ironman92That picture of the Orioles pitcher looks eerily similar to a guy that pitched for the Mariners.
-
thavoiceThis is why I love interleague play.
I havent given a rats-ass about the oreos for along time and havent given them a second of my time. Now with the Redlegs going to Camden Yards I get to learn some new stuff from a different team -

He was with Pittsburgh last year. Started in AAA, got called up and .2 innings into his first start, took a line drive off the head, got a concussion and didn't pitch (at least in the bigs) after that. Might have played in the minors, but not the majors. -
justincredibleOs pitcher played for the Florence Freedom under Tom Browning back in '03. And he sucked. The Reds better kill him.

mhs95_06Heisey 7
Phillips 4
Votto 3
Rolen 5
Bruce 9
Gomes DH
Stubbs 8
Hernandez 2
Janish 6
Volquez RHP -
RotinajI like this lineup. Reds win 8-3. Heisey, Gomes, and Bruce all homer.
-
SportsAndLadyBruce hasn't homered in 19 games lol doubt he gets one today
(reverse psychology) -
thavoiceNo way he hits one tonite.
No way. -

I would to see Heisey get the majority of the ABs at the leadoff spot for the rest of the season. I love his approach and it also gets Stubbs down in the order where he belongs. I have no issue with his Ks, just wanted to get him in a place where he can knock in runs -
daveI thought you didn't want to see Stubbs down in the order, or was that someone else with a Reds av?
Got to ride Gomes while he's hot. -
SportsAndLadyThat was probably me dave I know jordos wanted him out of the leadoff spot for a while....I've since changed my stance however...heisey is better there right now..6 is perfect for stubbs
-
justincredibleNow Stubbs will just strike out with more men on base.
-
wildcats20That was not a strike.
-
daveIt's a lot easier to make contact when a pitcher has to throw out of the stretch and worry about base runners. Stubbs also will have other things to worry about that might ease his tension up there about K'ing

I hope Volquez gets those calls.wildcats20;813041 wrote:That was not a strike. -
daveHeisey K's too much to be a leadoff hitter too, but until there is a move at SS so that 1,2 can be either Cozart BP or BP Cozart I think Heisey will work. At least he's not afraid to bunt.
-
mhs95_06Nine pitches get the Reds in the first. Only one ball called(to Votto on 1st pitch). The 3rd strike to Heisey was slightly outside, but I guess since he took the first two strikes, there was no mercy. And BP swung at one a few inches outside. All 9 were 89-91 mph fastballs.
-
wildcats20And there should be 2 outs.
-
daveI've had enough of EV, don't care how good he can look at times. Bring up Willis and give him a shot.
-
wildcats20Edinson should be out of this inning. That was such a terrible throw by Ramon. Edinson did what he was supposed to do and struck out the batter.
But yeah, overall he does need to get his shit together. -
dave27 pitches, yikes.
Reds going to make another journeyman look like cy young?
