Reds @ Orioles--game 1
-
mhs95_06Berken hangs a slider on the first pitch to Janish and he ties it with a hit to LF on a broken bat!
-
mhs95_06In LeCure's 2nd inning he sets them down in order, something EV was unable to do, and again strikes out all the lefties he sees(1).
-
mhs95_06I think BP resorted to the behind the back flip when he didn't need to to get the out on Markakis
-
Ironman92Had a better shot playing it in do or die mode in front of him....going for the ridiculous wow.
I don't expect that play to be made...just sayin -
Ironman92I would've been on here sooner but I've been on my MLB11 watching Wily Mo's go ahead insane bomb in Detroit the past 10 minutes....must see. Maybe the longest line drive ever hit.
-
Ironman92It's almost funny as I fast forwarded to catch up to live TV that when the Reds are batting after the commercial break...if I hit the 30 second fast forward once after the final commercial...it almost always puts them at the 2nd batter of the inning.
-
Ironman92Look out Mark Reynolds....Drew Stubbs has 102 strikeouts on the season.
-
Ironman92103
-
mhs95_06Ump was wrong on the strike 3 call on Stubbs to end the 10th for the Reds.
-
Ironman92Nice smother by Phillips.

Stubbs has proven ad naseum that it probably didn't matter....bad calls happen and both teams have been upset about some out calls on strikes....103 whiffs by one of the fastest guys in baseball on June 24th, completely unacceptable....I do not care about his age or experience he is not improving his weaknesses. -
Ironman92Janish with a 92 mph fastball to double up the runner at 1st....only Tulo would've matched that.

Reynolds must have plowed some dirt with his belly slide and slowed down going back to first for that throw to beat him! -
Ironman92Yeah....maybe he was in the air and didn't need to slide....he looked like he had to be safe. Ump drilled the big call against Gomes which looked wring initially...but was correct.
-
Ironman92Thanks Drew...we lose.
It is not a double....this is the majors. -
mhs95_06Arredondo was able to avoid the lead-off walk, but Stubbs blew the out! The outfielders in this game seem to be having more trouble than normal with balls hit over their heads.

Renteria was MVP in 1997!! Haha gotta have him on this teamOur ss suck balls!!! -
Ironman9212th inning...Stubbs to win it!
-
mhs95_06The O's offensive effort that half inning after a gift lead-off double wreaked similarly to many Reds wasted offensive half innings this year.

Isn't Janish over .300 the past 15-20 games? -
Ironman92At what point, if ever will Phillips just decide to go oppo for the whole season and hit .315 with 200 hits, 120 runs and 35 doubles....why is he so damn insistent on swinging to hit 40 HR?
-
jordo212000
Probably idk though. He has been better. He's obviously a better hitter than his .230 average was suggesting, but I'm not sure he's a guy who can give you anything north of .255 over the course of a full seasonRenteria was MVP in 1997!! Haha gotta have him on this team
