Someone tell Matt Ryan he is not Peyton Manning....He continuously checks the play at the line of scrimmage almost every down...and its worked like twice all night. Just run the fucking play they tell you to

Yeah taht was pretty pathetic. Almost equally pathetic as the fact that that 15 yards was probably equal to our biggest play in the 2nd half

Pack couldn't stop anything first quarter and now they look like a world-class D...wtf?

1st quarter we were mixing in the run. Now we're going 4 and 5 wide every play like we have an all world QB

Good to see the Falcons lose. That 1st rd pick for the Browns is looking better by the week.

Tebow proved my point. I don't do fantasy football. Denver fans are happy for the first time all year, they can't wait to see Tebow get reps with the first team in practice.

An eligible receiver is considered to be an obstructing opponent ONLY to a point five yards beyond the line of scrimmage unless the player who receives the snap clearly demonstrates no further intention to pass the ball. Within this five-yard zone, a defensive player may chuck an eligible player in front of him. A defensive player is allowed to maintain continuous and unbroken contact within the five-yard zone until a point when the receiver is even with the defender. The defensive player cannot use his hands or arms to push from behind, hang onto, or encircle an eligible receiver in a manner that restricts movement as the play develops. Beyond this five-yard limitation, a defender may use his hands or arms ONLY to defend or protect himself against impending contact caused by a receiver. In such reaction, the defender may not contact a receiver who attempts to take a path to evade him.

lol @ Hb31187 because he failed like the Falcons did.

You are totally overlooking this part:
Note: Once the quarterback hands off or pitches the ball to a back, or if the quarterback leaves the pocket area, the restrictions (illegal chuck, illegal cut) on the defensive team relative to the offensive receivers will end, provided the ball is not in the air.
Tebow was quite clearly outside the pocket.

And you guys are totally overlooking that the WRs were more than 5 yds beyond the LOS.

Dude, the QB leaves the pocket, the rule is no longer in effect. This is not hard to comprehend. I mean, you are reading it plain as day...same as we all are.

The 5 yard limit is the restriction of the rule when the QB is in the pocket. Once he leaves, he is a runner and not a passer. In that case a DB no longer has to treat the WR as a WR and he is now a blocker. The DB can man-handle him (within the other rules....not the chucking rule) all he wants until the ball is in the air. Once its in the air, the QB is ruled to have been a passer not a runner and the pass interference rule goes into effect. But the 5 yard chuck rule is eliminted immediately when the QB leaves the pocket and it is not restored till the next play.

Thank you. Otherwise the QB would run every play because you wouldn't be able to touch a WR that was blocking you. When the QB is outside of the pocket think of him as a RB and the rules that apply on a running play.

What you are quoting there is a personal foul language and nothing to do with contact with an eligible receiver language.
  • Speedofsand
Horribly wrong? No I don't think so. You interpret the rules your way to back up your trolling. I'll watch the refs throws flags for 'illegal contact' and 'pass interference', except they don't throw those flags on the last play of a game that is a hail mary pass. No one gets that call, unless its blatant like the Browns vs Detroit a cpl yrs ago.

Y'all know Tebow is better than Orton like I said. Deal with it.

Don't you think your obsession with another man that you've never met is a bit odd? I mean I understand rooting for a guy, but your Tebow nutriding is rather creepy.

Tebow or Orton....won't matter Denver still blows.

How fucking stupid are you? I quoted Hb whining about a play in last night's game. He was wrong, so are you. Read it dumbass.

One on one in the open field is a lot different than 6-8 guys jumping up for a ball in one locale.
