Will sq_crazies/theboss be back to explain why Miami/Lebron had an epic collapse?
-
Skyhook79and what username will he have?
-
2quik4uwas no collapse they got exposed
-
Mr. 300SQ is busy spooning with T Pryor right now. He's gonna be pretty busy in the coming days what with Lebron's sack needing held. Don't look for SQ anytime soon.
-
SageDisappointing, the only reason I came back here was to mercilessly bash SQ_Crazies into the ground. Seriously, has there ever been a cock-jockeying internet commenter and a blatantly self-unaware athlete that deserve each other more than these two?
Regardless, carry on. -
robj55There was no collapse, they were 2 solid quarters away from winning a title, Dallas made the plays and were well coached, no epic collapse but people blow shit out of proportion.
-
Fly4FunHe came back and made a ridiculous thread... scroll down a bit. His new name was "#6"

And said he was gonna leave again but I saw #6 lurking earlier this afternoon. -

I would say blowing a 15 pt lead at home with 7 mins left and losing 3 of the next 4 games and getting beat pretty soundly in Game 6, an elimination game, on your floor is a collapse.robj55;802292 wrote:There was no collapse, they were 2 solid quarters away from winning a title, Dallas made the plays and were well coached, no epic collapse but people blow **** out of proportion. -

Soundly? they were within striking distance the entire game -

What a nice NBA season for me. The Lakers and the Heat failed to live up to expectations. -

It never looked as if the Heat were going to make a real run at it. Especially once the fourth quarter rolled around.robj55;802451 wrote:Soundly? they were within striking distance the entire game -

The Mavs never had less than a 7 pt lead from the 10:10 mark in the 4th. The Heat were soundly beat. -

a 7 point lead is soundly beaten now, hmm, that's 2 threes and a layup from the lead -
Skyhook79
But the Heat didn't hit 2- 3's and a layup the margin of victory ended up being 10 points. I know thats just 3-3's and a layup from the lead.robj55;802531 wrote:a 7 point lead is soundly beaten now, hmm, that's 2 threes and a layup from the lead -

that's not being beaten soundly, which is what you said though, I get what you are saying, compared to the other games it wasn't as dramatic -
friendfromlowryOn paper, a seven point win isn't beating someone soundly. But if you watched from halftime on, you could tell the Heat just weren't ever going to make a real game of it. Dallas had all the momentum and were getting great production out of everyone. Miami was pretty much the opposite.
-
hoops23The margin may have not been soundly, but Dallas controlled that game, and really, controlled the series after Game 1.
And 10 points in a close out game is soundly beaten, IMO. -

Failed to live up to expectations? Any realist didn't expect them to win a title in year one. I'd say making it to the finals their first year together was a successful season. If they don't win one within next year or the year after, yeah, then I think you can say they didn't live up to expectations. -

IMO, after "not 5, not 6, not 7...etc, etc" this season was a TOTAL bust. They built up expectations of themselves SO high THIS year that it was a forgone conclusion that they'd be bringing home a ring. BUST! -
ricolawith "the decision" and "the party", etc, they set themselves up as too good/too important to fail. That being the case, anything short of a title would be a failure. Had they quietly gone about their business with a hint of humility, making it to the finals wouldn't have been bad.

why? the Celtics did it in their first year and their stars cant compare to the Heat's big 3....oh wait..the Celtics actually have a TEAM, not 3 players -

THEY might have set the bar that high but any realistic fan didn't expect them to win it year one, let alone get to the finals. Chemistry is a huge part of basketball and normally it takes a lot of time to gel as a unit on offense and defense.
