Texas Rangers @ Cleveland Indians series thread.
-
hoops23Posting this from my iPhone, so no long intro to this series. You guys already know the deal anyway, so no need to rehash the match ups in this post.
Fact is, Tribe just finished May 14-12, own the best record in baseball at 33-20, went 6-6 on a tough road trip and started June off with a win.
Now Texas comes into town for a 4 game set sporting a 30-26 record and a pretty poor road record. I'd love 3/4, but the Rangers are good and always play is tough anyway. Give me a split and I'll be happy as well.
First 3 games have the typical 7:05 first pitch start and of course Sunday is a 1:05 start.
Go Tribe! -
OneBuckeyeGood way to end the road trip. Let's hope the pitching can improve. Especially Carmona.
-
Commander of AwesomeI dont even know what to think about Carmona anymore. Not sure what his deal is.

I think a lot of Carmona's problems are mental. He probably has the best stuff of all of our starters. But he doesn't seem to have it upstairs sometimes. When you can throw mid 90's and the movement he has, you should dominate.
Carrasco goes tonight against David Bush, who is replacing Matt Harrison. (Has a blister) Carrasco has pitched better lately and really looked good in his last start against Tampa. Hopefully that continues tonight. It's hard to win 4 game series, and getting the first one would be huge.
With 3 walks last night, Santana now has 38 on the season. This leads the team by far. Next closest is Choo with 21. He may only be hittting .224, but his OBP is .362. That's pretty good. -
Commander of AwesomeSeems to be the case with Carmona, get on him early and he can't get passed it and move on. Gotta have a short term memory as a pitcher and he seems to lack that.
-
BR1986FBI'll be happy with a split.

ohiobucks1We're gonna sweep them. Mark my words

hoops23I have a 3 day weekend so I'm thinking about going to a game or 2 myself.

like_thatSucks Hamilton is back, i was hoping we would miss him for the first series. Nice to see the Tribe had a winning record in May. Who was the poster that was talking about all you need is a slightly above .500 record each month, and you are normally looking at the playoffs?
-
BRFBRF checking in and Go Tribe!
That would be me posting about the few games above .500 stuff after hearing the radio guys talking about it. -

Good stuff. Hopefully they can keep it up, especially during these tougher months. I expect them to be much higher than 2 games above .500 when they run into easier months. -
bases_loadedIf they play .500 the rest of the year they are in.
-
TBone14Dave Bush is going for Texas tonight. He has only allowed 2 earned runs since 9-29 last season. Of course, he has only made 2 starts this season. 3 innings in April led to a DL stint and then a start in May, which I believe was followed by more time on the DL. Great opportunity for the Tribe to get game 1 tonight.
-
TBone14However, the Rangers have totally owned us for the past 3 years. Tribe are 3-12 vs Texas overall in the last 3 seasons and just 2-7 at Progressive Field. Time to change that.

Ouch! Didn't realize they owned us so bad over the past 3 seasons. -

After BRF posted our May record, I mentioned that if a team goes over .500 each month, it usually doesn't matter what the other teams around you do in the long run.
If you're over .500 each month, you're easily looking at 90+ wins. -
DeadliestWarrior34Indians off to a great start this inning. Up 1-0 on buck single

Grady either strikes out or doubles. -
hoops23Again, say what you want about Santana's BA, but his OBP is great. He knows how to work a pitcher.
And Grady has a sweet looking stroke right now. He just needs to say healthy! Oh, and I really like Travis Buck. Just a solid player. -

True. True. They've got a chance for one of those huge innings theyve had this year
