Glad to see you're trying to stay on topic yet still felt the need to get a pathetic jab in trying to get the last word. Typical post from you. Interesting you're wanting to talk about Mike Brown, and didn't start posting in here until the thread got off topic. You're not fooling anyone. Nice troll fail.

That's exactly your pattern too. You come in late and try to pull off the "oh i want to stay on topic , you guys are pathetic" act. GTFO with that trash.

Where did I say any of that? You said before in another thread you wanted to stay on topic...correct?

I was actually just reading articles from Google news and thought I'd post the one regarding Shaw since it pertains to the topic, but feel free to continue bitching.

Wow, I'm surprised to say the least. Do not know why they won't give Brian Shaw a chance since he seems to be the best option at this point. Mike Brown would be a better fit for a younger team that would listen to him and that he could get to play defense. LeBron didn't listen to him and neither will Kobe. I see this being a disaster for LA.

Lol, this is a bad, bad move

    #This.

Lebron needs to take A LOT of the heat for quitting in game 5 but you'll NEVER hear the nuthuggers EVER admit to anything like that.

I'd LOVE to see a 30 for 30 on how LeBron quit in game 5.

Of course you didn't. Keep it up...its what you do best. Am I supposed to be bothered by you using my first name? lol...creep show.

I'm also surprised that Brown is their #1. I thought at first it was just a rumor and Shaw would be at the top of the list. I'm guessing he is leaving town.

With some people, such as commentator Magic Johnson, saying the Lakers need to blow shit up and others, like Kobe, saying they should keep the team together for another run...would hiring Brown mean they're thinking about making big changes?

I'd think that if they're going to keep the team together for next year, they'd go with the guy (Shaw) who was part of Phil's staff. Going with an outside name like Brown would seem like they're going in a different direction.

I think they should hire Emmitt Smith.

Exactly! THAT would liven up press conferences. Hopefully his Lakers teams wouldn't get debacled.

This really makes no sense to me.

Is Mike Brown a good coach? Sure he is, but he's not LA material IMO.

Going after someone outside of the current staff is really weird to me, when B Shaw is sitting right there waiting for the call.

Deal is done says Broussard via twitter RT @Chris_Broussard: Deal is done. Mike Brown & Lakers agree to 4-yr, $18M deal. Team opt for 4th yr. Brown gets $2.5 mil if opt not taken.

Mike Brown is a good (not great) coach and deserved another shot at coaching. Happy for the guy, will be very interesting to see how he fares in LA.

Sorry LA, not even a gift wrapped Pau Gasol or prime Shaq can carry Kobe to another title with Brown as the coach.

Get him some help to run the offense and he'll be aight

    This.

    I don't think he's a bad coach... he just doesn't know offense.

Thats why I'm surprised he's even being pursued by LA. I HIGHLY doubt he will come in and run the triangle. So why bring a guy in who is average, at best offensively, to introduce a new system?

Not only was his offensive philosophy on the court questioned, but his subbing and rotational strategy was very suspect.

I'm rather surprised to say the least.

I like Brown, and hopefully having some more offensive weapons will show us he is a capable offensive coach, which he wasn't in Cleveland.

Mike Brown CAN coach!!! He will do just fine. It is a bit off base IMO to say he wasnt a capable offensive coach in Cleveland. We ALL know that offense went the exact way LBJ wanted it to. It didnt matter if Brown had called certain offensive plays, LBJ was going to finish an offensive possession however he wanted.

    Shaw has gotta be pissed

Maybe they keep Shaw and run the triangle? It will be interesting to see what they plan on doing

Add D Howard to a Mike Brown defense and they might be on to something

According to the Lakers, the deal is not done. But they are looking to get it in place in the next day or so.
“In response to rampant speculation and reports about our head coaching position and Mike Brown, we’ve met with Mike and are very impressed with him. In addition, we have an outline for an agreement in place and hope to sign a contract within the next few days.”
    This was released at 6:10.
