Mike Brown to the Lakers

Also LOL at people who think Lebron was/is not a good on ball defender, completely shut down the quickest player in the game and reigning MVP, what will the haters have to say now I wonder.

Don't listen to Skip Bayless but I've agreed with the "wasn't clutch and doesn't hit game winning shots" part. My perception of him settling for jumpers and being afraid to drive later in the game is from watching his game first hand. Now that may have changed THIS year, because I haven't watched him at all, but it didn't sound like it.

He said today on First and 10 that Wade was the one that won them the game last night and gave no credit to Lebron at all, also said that Wade is the leader of the team. Newsflash Skip, Lebron is the leader and closer of that team, watch a game.

LeBron may now have taken the closer role, but no mistake about it...Wade is still the leader of the team. He is the one that has been the star there for 8 years. It's like Jeter/A-Rod in NY and if you are blind to that then I don't know what to tell you.

Dead wrong. That's Lebrons team in Miami. That's not even up for debate at this point.

I agree with this. Wade has been there his entire career and brought them a title. Bron having a couple good playoff series isnt going to change that

Well at least you backed it up with arguments and reasoning. I'm not saying Wade is the better player, I'm just saying it is and always will be his team just like he will always have 1 more ring than LeBron. Again, refer to my Jeter/A-Rod analogy and maybe you'll understand it better.

Baseball is different. One player cannot dominate the same way as basketball.

It's Lebrons team because he's the best player on the team. He is the one talked about more by the media. Even Wade came out and said at the end of games he defers to Lebron.

Haslem will always have one more ring as well. So?

Which explains why Miami's not up 2-0. Seems that late in the game, even though Wade had been dominating, it became "LeBron's team", he wasn't getting the job done and Dallas was able to come back until a 15-point deficit became a win.

Smart teams go with what's working until the final buzzer when in an NBA championship series...they don't forget about it because it's one guy's team and he HAS to have the ball down the stretch. What did Wade have in the final seven minutes? Two shots? That's just mindbogglingly stupid. This isn't high school ball where teams can stall and play junk defenses on star players to keep in games. This is the pros, that's D-fucking-Wade, he's hot (ie: near-unstoppable) and you're playing a team that came back from 15 down with less time than seven to go (something I wish I'd remembered last night). You have Wade continue to shove knifes in the Mavs until it's mathematically impossible for them to come back. And then maybe a couple more just to send a message that no prisoners will be taken. Instead, they went away from that and the Mavs currently have the advantage as a result.

Which brings me back to the point that Lebron's NOT a closer. Let him get "his" in the earlier 46 minutes of the game. Last 2 minutes, give it to Wade. I don't want Lebron taking ANY shots at that point. And the "stat-o-holics" can throw all of the bullshit my way that they want (about LBJ being a better closer)....gut feeling says give it to Wade if you want to close it out. Much more aggressive with more heart and a will to win. That's NOT Lebron. And if anyone wants to imply LBJ's a better closer, my only response is...

  • SportsAndLady
Wade was on fire in game 2..all of a sudden at the end of the game, Lebron tried to close it out and they failed miserably.

The Heat don't need to get into a alpha dog thing...if Wade is playing well, give him the ball at the end. If Lebron is playing well, give him the ball at the end.

Lebron in Cleveland, at times, would do great down the stretch, but most remember the times where he didn't play well at the end (i.e. shooting fade away jumpers instead of driving)...that is where he needed someone else to take the last shot, something they couldn't do because there were no other great players on that team...they need to utilize Wade and Lebron playing together by allocating last minute shots to whomever is playing the best.

You're really going to compare Haslem to Dwayne Wade? Well at least now I know you're reaching.

How am I comparing? Someone said it will skews be Wades team because he will always have one more ring. That's just dumb. It may be Wades team but it's certainly not because he has a ring.
  • Fly4Fun
The one thing I noticed during game 2 is usually the fans hadn't been doing the MVP chants for Wade or LeBron during the earlier series. But in game 2 when Wade was going to the FT line, the crowd was doing a partial MVP chant for him... maybe that started to screw with the dynamic a bit.

Maybe it's because he's been Miami's franchise player his entire career and was the best player on what currently stands as the only Heat championship team...Or because LeBron CAME to Wade.
  • jordo212000
Haha why does it always come back to who's team it is? Who cares?

Any championship caliber team has multiple good players. It is very rare for anybody to do it by themselves. I'm not sure why anybody would think less of Lebron or Dwade because they built a championship caliber team? Isnt that the goal? To win it all? Why wouldnt you do what these guys did? I respect them more because of their lack of ego and willingness to leave money on the table
  • karen lotz
If you want to go by what the players themselves are saying, Wade recently said in an interview its LeBron's team. He also said LeBron is the better player.

To me it just seems like a straw for people to grasp at. They think or pretend that it is a big deal that the Heat belong to Dwade, but ulttimately the general, casual fan could care less. They are both Hall of Famers and are among the top players in the game

Well what do you expect him to say? "This is my team, and I'm the better player."

    LOL

With that said, who's team is it is subjective, but what isn't subjective, is that Lebron is the better player.

Was his reach as far as the reach people make when they call Lebron "Scotty Pippen" lol

Because this is a forum, and we are here to discuss topics such as whose team it is....

Also lol at the bolded part of your quote. Other than joining forces together, what has LeBron and Wade done this season that has indicated they have a lack of ego? Was it when LeBron spoke in third person, was it when he said he is going to take his talents to Miami, was it when he said he spoils his fans sometimes, or was it when Noah said they are hollywood as hell? SMH. Also, gtfo with this less money bs. You do realize the Cavs made a S&T with Miami giving LeBron his max contract? On top of that there is no income tax in Miami, so LeBron is in fact making more money than he would have been making if he received a max contract in Cleveland.

No, because the point people are trying to make is it's Wade's team and LeBron is his sidekick. But of course you try to make it sound like people are making LeBron/Pippen comparisons based on basketball ability.
