Dropped 3rd strike, EVERYONE was coming off the field. Cairo figured it out, ran to 1st and the catcher threw it down to 2nd and both runners were safe.

That was such an awkward play all around

3rd strike to Cairo hit the dirt, but the Cubs were leaving the field while Cairo took 1st and Hernandez went to 2nd.

Damn it, that would have been epic if Stubbs would have came through with a big hit.
  • Midstate01
Never thought I'd see that again.

Nice night for Volquez, outside of one pitch he should've never had to throw.

Lol garza is a crazy bastard.
  • charliehustle14
Since when did Chapman start throwing right handed? Oh wait...

Gamecast showed all 4 balls to Soriano as in the strike zone lol has the 2nd ball as right down the middle almost.

Good Lord, Joey WTF are you doing.
  • charliehustle14
Way to go half ass after that ball Joey. smh

Lead off walks kill you and defensive lapses kill you. Let's see how much damage they do in the same inning here.
  • Midstate01
He never does that. No cowboy, it was just a lazy throw.

Brantley said once Votto set his feet, he had no chance! All he had to do was throw it harder - it was an easy play!

The ruling on that play was wrong. The inning should have been over.
Rule 6.09(b) Comment: A batter who does not realize his situation on a third strike not caught, and who is not in the process of running to first base, shall be declared out once he leaves the dirt circle surrounding home plate."[5]

Keep the ball inside on Fukodome please. He ties himself up all the time.

But was Cairo actually out of the dirt circle? I don't know, I didn't see it because it went to commercial.
  • charliehustle14
Jesus Christ throw a flipping strike

He was halfway to the dugout.

An atrocious play by Votto. Outrageously ghey.

Scored a bunt hit. Nothing was bobbled or anything....but that play gets made routinely in pony league. Defending it is sickening.

I agree. Should have been an error.

Get the K here. Barney is tough to double up.
  • Ironman92
It's not an error because of technicality.
