Game 42 - Chicago Cubs (Matt Garza) at Cincinnati Reds (Edinson Volquez)

    Haha solid scouting.

Carlos Pena couldn't hit my curveball, yet the Reds continue to throw him fastballs right down the middle.

Early in the season Ramon was throwing well and Hanigan was not. Now it looks like that has reversed!

Carlos Pena with the most "no doubter" HR of the year.

Yea, Barney was hosed by 5 feet on a throw anywhere near the bag.

Garza takes so damn long to throw a fucking pitch

    Pitch the damn ball Garza
  • se-alum
Lol...he wasn't throwin' the ball anywhere near Votto.

God I hope BP starts the all star game..he's the man
  • sherm03
First and second with two outs...

Let's see if Bruce can muster up the same magic that Pena pulled out in the top of the first.
  • sherm03
    Or not...
  • Midstate01
Only good thing was garza threw 24 pitches.

Reds hitters lately have been free swingin through the first time through the lineup...then when it gets to their 2nd and 3rd at bats, they seem to see the ball well. I think that is on purpose. It's why we've seen so many late inning runs lately.

Volquez actually looks to be throwing the ball pretty wall, just bad placement on that pitch to Pena.
  • Midstate01
    Quick work there. Shocker!

We really need someone else to pitch the 1st inning and let Edinson start off the 2nd. He has been MONEY after the first inning.
  • Ironman92
Phillips is without any doubt the deserving NL 2nd baseman...but Jose Bautista is just as much if not more deserving.

    An AL right fielder?

I think he meant more deserving than any other player at that position. Which is what Thom and Cowboy were talking about saying BP is the most deserving player of any position to make the all star starters.

Volquez's success after the first inning tells me that his pre-game warmups and prep is not good at all. That blame falls on Bryan Price. Clearly, whatever he is doing with EV is not working, and he needs to change up the pre-game preparations a little bit.

Ah I wasn't paying attention to the TV, so I didn't hear what they were saying.

Great time to start the runner. Then if he gets out. Votto starts next inning.
