And the entire "Grady shouldn't bat leadoff" thing is really getting played out.. He basically leads off 1 inning... Brantley lead off 3 innings today batting 7th.
I've never seen so many complaints on a team that is winning, like the Tribe is currently doing.
Who was panicking? I wasnt really reading, just posting.
As for Grady, I agree its played out. But the question is valid, would he be better served in a different spot, with Brantley hitting so well for a prolonged period of time now. -

Ha it's just history man. We're all worried they will turn into the crap the have been before. I call it cautiously optimistic. -

This. -
OQBBrantley just knows how to get on base....and for that I think he is the man to lead us off. Grady is still trying to get back in to the swing of things so why have him leading off....just because that is where he has always hit? I am not a fan of entitlement.
-
like_thatGotta give Hoops props though, I haven't seen a Tribe/Cavs/Browns fan this confident before.
-
OQBWe are in position to still take 3/4 in this series!

This. I remember a couple years ago my mom and dad came down in like March to visit me my freshman year at UK. We decided to go downtown one night and my dad refused to leave the hotel because the Cavs were on. Me and my roommate were making fun of him and we asked why he had to watch every single game when the season is so long. Now remember, the Cavs were a top team in the league and still rising, and he responded with a straight face, "... because I don't know when we'll ever be good again." It's so true for a Cleveland sports fan. -
hoops23I'm a die-hard Cleveland fan.. Always have been, always will be.
I've lived through a TON of heart break within our sports teams.. From being so close and falling short, to not living up to expectations...
I've also lived through A TON of TERRIBLE seasons from each of our teams..
THAT is why I began to appreciate each promising team/season more and more.
These Indians are exactly what Cleveland and it's fans need right now. A promising young team with what seems to be staying power. I'm not going to sit here and nit pick every small thing they do wrong. It's unrealistic. Hitters will have bad stretches, we will get beat, we will make mental mistakes, etc, etc...
This team could be 5-13. Then there would be things to bitch about.. At 13-5 though? Just enjoy the damn ride. If the Tribe is good enough to fight for the AL Central, they will. -
OQBWe gotta have something to talk and argue back and forth about
-
BR1986FBNice ! Masterson stops a losing streak (although one game is hardly a streak) for the 3rd time this year.
-
royal_kGood post hoops.....you and I seem to be in agreement. Not in my wildest dreams did I think this team would come out this strong. 13-5 is incredible and I'm enjoying it bigtime.
Hopefully they get tonight's game. 3 out of 4 on the road would be awesome. -
BR1986FBI may be off by a game but I'm pretty sure last nights victory ensures them of at least a .500 record for April. When was the last time we could say that under Wedge's leadership? If you would have asked most Tribe fans if they'd be pleased with at least a .500 record coming out of April I think most would have said "where do I sign on?" Hopefully it's much higher than .500 at the end of the month.
-
HitsRusI continue to be amazed by this team's performance.. I never saw it happening. Not a chance in a million years. Somebody pinch me...I must be dreaming.

The ole Grinder was notorious for slow starts in April. Man I'm glad he's gone.BR1986FB;746828 wrote:I may be off by a game but I'm pretty sure last nights victory ensures them of at least a .500 record for April. When was the last time we could say that under Wedge's leadership?

Agreed, I honestly thought we'd be competing for worst record in the majors. -

Slow starts? We'd usually be out of it by mid-May and then they'd decide to start playing sometime in August so management could sell the "we finished strong...come on out to the old ballpark next year!" -
OneBuckeyeTomlin 2-0 2.75 ERA 11k v O'Sullivan 1-1 5.00 ERA 5K
http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/preview;_ylt=Ar4Z2cF_NuDHPQyjL_BU_Y45nYcB?gid=310421107O’Sullivan (1-1, 5.00) will make his second straight start in place of the injured Vin Mazzaro(notes) after giving up five hits in five innings of a 7-0 victory over Seattle on Saturday.
The right-hander went 1-1 with a 6.30 ERA in two starts against the Indians last season.
KC has hit good pitches throughout the series so Tomilin needs to come with control and stay ahead in the count. I like the matchup and our chances of winning the series. -
Laley23I was hoping for the first and last game of this series. If we take this one, it will make last nights gravy. Didnt like going against Chen and Hochevar, but we fought through Hochevar last night for the win.
-
OQBTomlin just needs to pitch a solid 6-7 innings and hopefully the offense can give him an early lead.

BRFNo matter what happens, at the least we get a split out of this (that's my expert analysis!). Go Tribe!
