He scored 8 points in 18 minutes in a 102-101 victory. Two nights later, Erden started for the second time in a 93-62 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats. In that game Erden played a game-high 41 minutes recording 10 points, 7 rebounds, 4 blocked shots and a plus/minus rating of +34

  Sounds like it's worth seeing what he can do in extended minutes.

  Don't really understand that move, but JJ needs to play in his natural position so this will help.

  It was rumored that Erden is one of the guys that the Cavs had been looking at for a week or so in discussions for Anthony Parker. Seems a little bizarre that the Celtics just gave him away while also trading Perkins, although they did also receive Kristic from OKC.

  I am surprised Parker is still here, but if they did who in the hell was going to log minutes at the 3? Eyenga is not strong enough right now to guard the 3 position for more than about 10 minutes a night, and Graham is awful. I guess Gee should be disappointed because his minutes probably would have increased significantly.

  I don't think the last 25 games on the year should be of any concern. Play Manny or Jamison at the 3 if you have to. With this second trade Jamison will play the 3 more than Parker I would think. He can't guard at any position anyways.
  
  They just must not have been able to get anything (even a 2nd round 2013 pick) for him.

  Can't believe most on here seem to be thinking OKC got the better deal/questioning why Boston would make the trade they did. It's Kendrick fucking Perkins. He's never averaged better than 10 points OR 8 rebounds per game in a season (and he's been in the league 8 years now). Getting Jeff Green for him is a total steal for Boston.
  
  Green has been a solid 15 and 6 guy and a good defender for 3 straight seasons. And Krstic averages 7.6 points and 4.4 rebounds in 21 minutes. He isn't a banger inside, but he'll replace Perkins production pretty easily.

  Its not so much OKC got better. Boston just got softer. Miami has to be loving this trade because that is where Miami couldnt match up with Boston.

  Maybe not on the offensive end, but he's a pretty good defender. I've heard many, many people, including former nba players and analysts talk about how they believe if Perkins doesn't get hurt, Boston wins the championship last year. That's how big his impact was on the defensive side. I mean I know it's all speculation, but he was a pretty key piece for Boston.

  Its not always about the numbers. Fullbacks dont get alot of rushing stats but they are very important to a team. This is what Perkins is to the C's. Hes a brute down low. There arent many guys in the league that can guard guys like Howard, Bynum etc... down low without any help. Perkins is one of those guys.

  Do you watch basketball? Perkins is a beast on defense. Isn't afraid to mix it up with anyone. Plays with a ton of passion. The heat have nobody to match up with him at all.
  
  OkC got a Ton better today. They have a post presence and then got good backup players. Okc got an A+ today.

  You dont have to worry about matching up with a Defensive big man. Hes not gonna kill you in the post scoring, he only hurts you if you have a big man that you feed for points

  And for the record, Howard averaged 22 on Perkins in the playoffs last year shooting 57% (the most ppg he averaged in any of Orlando's playoff series'). He's a good defender. He isn't all-world.
  
  And I think OKC definitely got worse. They have 2 guys averaging over 10 points per game now. Not having a legitimate 3rd option is going to put a ton of pressure on Durant and Westbrook offensively.

  They have two guys (lbj, wade) who drive to the bucket. He isn't afraid to knock them out. Which is part of what I said.

  Perkins abused Miami when they played before the all star break, he can still score if needed.

  Go back and watch clevelands series vs Boston. There's a reason I think that lebron shot almost all jumpers. Perkins makes a big differnce in that defense. Nobody is afraid to go inside on the O'Neals. The celtics d just became pretty soft and not very deep in the interior.

  So you think LBJ and Wade are gonna be hesitant to drive because Perkins is down there? They will drive directly at him and get him in foul trouble. Hes not like Big Baby who slides over and takes charges, he tries to swat everything and LBJ and Wade will finish with contact. So hes not much of a deterrent to them

  You're literally the only person who thinks this. On NBA tv and espn they were skobbing the knob of OKC for their moves today and hammering Boston for thiers.

  And if you do this with Lebron, he tucks his tail between his legs and settles for the 20 foot jumpers the rest of the night. That's where Boston has the advantage against Lebron. They own him and are in his head that he can't beat them. Plus Boston doesn't kowtow to LBJ because Garnett, Pierce, Allen, etc think THEY are the better players, not him. Like other teams, they don't play into Lebron's "game" and aren't afraid to bang him around.
