To early to tell but it would be a great
    World Series.

The NL needs to win the All Star game.

If anyone doesn't read Tim Brown's power rankings, I highly recommend it. Dude's hilarious

    14. Seattle Mariners (37-37; Previous: 15) – Aardsma admits he once took himself with the first pick of a fantasy draft, later claimed he thought he had to go alphabetical.
    15. Colorado Rockies (37-37; Previous: 20) – Weird thing about baseball in Colorado: Whenever the hitters go cold, Coors Field turns blue.
    30. Houston Astros (28-48; Previous: 28) – With realignment coming, Astros petition league to go wherever Pirates go

Notice Hamels left the game early, anything wrong there?

CC Sabathia and Justin Verlander become 1st 11 game winners today.

Hamels was hit on his right (non throwing hand) by a line drive.

    17. Pittsburgh Pirates (37-37; Previous: 18) – The Pirates, apparently, are not going to go away. Same fear Pittsburgh has experienced for two decades.

Philly needs to trade for some offense before I would predict them making the World Series

Why? Who would they trade and what position?

I don't know who they would trade. But they need more offense. You can disagree if you would like, but that's my opinion. Their pitching may have been able to push them through, but now with all the injuries their offense has to pick up the slack

When their pitching only allows 3.19 runs per game and they score 4.04 seems like that .85 rpg is a better differential than the any other contenders.
  • SportsAndLady
Pretty sure phila has the first or second highest run differential in the league too.

Jordo your "you can disagree if u want but its my opinion" approach to everything is what makes you a complete jackass

With just a quick look I think they are first with the Reds 2nd at about a 1/2 run diff.

S&L makes me laugh. Did you learn that run differential stat at your job in the "sports industry"?

Philly has had more injuries recently, especially among their pitchers. Common sense would suggest that the scrubs they put out there to replace Oswalt, Madson, Contreras, Lidge, and Blanton will catch up to them soon.

That's a lot to lose in a season.

Halladay , Lee, and Hamels best 1-3 combo going, Blanton and Oswalt haven't been lights out this season, and Worley, Kendrick, Stutes, and Bastardo have stepped in quite nicely.
  • jordo212000
Relax I'm not saying they suck or won't make the playoffs. Just saying I don't see them winning the World Series or getting there under the current circumstances
  • Laley23
What makes you think they will be injured in 3 months still?

Oswalt might be done and aren't there whispers that Contreras has a serious injury

    Good one...

You said they need to upgrade their offense; now it's pitching which one is it?

Like Laley said, it's June, even with their injury problems, they're all gonna be healthy in October. LOL @ Oswalt being done.
  • karen lotz
There is concern that Oswalt might be done for the rest of the year actually.
