Cool NBA question.

Is anyone who says "MJ is GOAT" a MJ nuthugger?
I think he is the best player I've ever seen play. I think he's a huge tool, but I also think that about Kobe and MJ. -
Trueblue23Here's my way of figuring out who's better.
It's Game 7 of the NBA Finals and I can have LeBron or Larry Bird.
I'm taking Bird every time. LeBron is still young and can change a lot of minds in the next few years if he really wants to. -
Commander of AwesomeWow this turned in a idiot sq getting pwned from all sides and him refusing to back anything up other than "lbj iz teh bestest eva!!!!111". Not surprised.

Ha you and SQ just say he's the best in your opinion and don't even back up why. First you claim rings don't matter cause they're a team award (might be the most retarded post in this thread) and then you have no come back other than "SMH" when a guy has more individual awards. So lets hear why LBJ is the best if he has less rings and less individual awards than guys who play the same position. You can't back it up, which is what makes you an LBJ nut hugging front runner. -

Statistics suggest Bird by a significant margin too. -

Of course Bird will have more individual awards at this point, LeBron isn't done playing. Bird won 3 regular season MVPs, LeBron is on his way to his 3rd straight MVP this year. If LeBron's team can get to a Finals and win a championship or two, he is likely going to be the Finals MVP as well. -

Lots of ifs there. Also, if you're going to call him the greatest at this point in his career, you're going to compare his achievements compared to guys who's careers are over. He may never win a championship or another MVP and these homers would still call him the goat. -
Commander of AwesomeMuch as it sucks, I would put LBJ as the leading MVP canidate at this point in the season, though Rose's case is really building imo.
-
karen lotzI haven't said either one was the greatest of all time. Its too early to say that as LeBron has quite a bit of basketball left to play. Both are great players but its kind of dumb to say for sure who is better. Bird has the better resume at this point, no question about it.

At this point it is a 2 horse race with those two. -
Commander of AwesomeI'm not sure who else I would really even consider putting in the race.

wildcats20Rondo will be considered. As will someone from the Spurs, most likely.

karen lotzMatt Bonner would get my vote.

SQ_CraziesLeBron is DEFINITELY the MVP, that isn't even close.
And I could care less who "pwns" me, I'll speak my peace and save my time with a lot of arguments now that I'm back--especially regarding LeBron. I'm well aware that most any argument I make for him will be met with major disagreement around here these days. That's fine with me, but I won't waste my time arguing with someone who clearly isn't going to listen to the argument. They've already got their mind made up.
COA, you know what isn't a surprise? Actually, I predicted that it would happen after NOT presenting my argument. You came on here and made the "he got pwned" post. LOL, too predictable buddy. -

Oh trying to save face and backpedal like usual after getting pwned and don't have a rebuttal? Ok thought so, not surprising. -

SQ_CraziesI'm putting my vCash on it.
But I'm telling you he is the MVP, it's not even close.
Player A wins MVP on team with best record in the East 2 straight years. Puts up a stat average that no one else in the league comes THAT close to. Moves from that team to a team where his numbers are expected to drop. They don't, new team is on top of the East. Old team sets NBA record for consecutive losses.
It's very obvious who player A is, but if it was anyone other than LeBron you would say they are undoubtedly the MVP. But since you hate LeBron, you won't. I get it, I'm fine with it, I don't expect you to admit that he is. But it's very clear that he is. Rose is the only other guy in the discussion IMO and I don't think he even belongs in the discussion. Here is a guy who averages fewer points, is a point guard and averages fewer assists, forget about rebounds and is on a decent but not GREAT team. Certainly makes them better, but Eric Dampier makes the Heat better. And Rose doesn't have the whole past team is the worst in the league and he's putting up the same numbers along side 2 of the better players in the league thing going for him. I actually think Rondo deserves more love than Rose but he won't get it because of "the Big 3". -
BigYtownRedLeBron in a meaningless regular season game has the opportunity to tie the game by making two FTs & wiffs on the first. No pressure he doesn't hit it, what happens when it is playoff time? He is greater than Bird? Really?
He jumped on Wade's bus & they are 0-3 against Boston, Pierce scored one point & Rondo helped keep LeBron in check. He is greater than Bird? Really? -

LeBron is the MVP right now, no doubt imo
You havent provided all that much to your argument though, at least the one versus Larry Bird. Thats kind of where Im lost...I may have missed it, but I dont see anywhere that youve given a reason as to why LeBron is better. -

SQ_CraziesI told you I wasn't going to waste my time. I've been down the old school/new school road enough times not to waste my time.
