Unless West Chester residents are going to help out with the $60 million debt that the city of Cincinnati has built up then they still aren't Cincinnati residents.

You guys are right, though. I am clearly making up this BS story for my own benefit.

Not saying you are..just saying just because you see people in Bengals attire on Sundays doesn't say Bengals fans are or are not bad fans.

    Indeed.

But seriously. West Chester resident does not equal Cincinnati resident.

The bandwagon is definately down. I teach at an elementary school about 50 miles from Cincy. Up until 2005 I could wear my Steelers garb and wouldn't get more than a response or two of negativity. But man o man that year it was Bengals mania.....and if I dared wear my Steelers hoodie it was a day of constant scolding from all ages of kids and staff members........it remained pretty strong the next 3 years but not as strong and in 2009 it jumped up again.......I pretty much just quit wearing my Steelers stuff as it wasn't worth it...but I made sure the knowledgable Bengal fans knew who I liked and how my team was doing (when the Steelers suck...I admit it)....and then this year it was full strength again but for just a few weeks. The hype over last season and TO was gone early and Bengals gear at my school is not too common......and I'd say it's pretty close between Steelers garb and Bengals garb......even without me.

So yes....the bandwagon is all but parked.......but maybe a bit stronger with some Steelers fans this week.

I really don't care about that..all I care about is the fact that everyone in West Chester roots for the Bengals, and they are literally nowhere to be found now.

In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have posted this thread. Honestly, I don't know how actual Cincy natives feel about the Bengals. I don't doubt their passion is strong. I was just basing my opinion off of this site, my town, and the fact the the 30-40 "Who Dey" statuses that showed up on my Facebook news feed every Sunday at the beginning of the season was down to 0 this week. I respect jordo and the other Bengal fans for coming on here defending their fans/team, as that's what a fanatic does.

Cleveland fans talking about how awful Bengals fans are is pretty funny. I'm not arguing the Browns supporters, but when your city does the same exact thing for the Cavs and Indians as Bengals fans it's pretty funny to me.

Also, not sure where these numbers come from, but pretty interesting to me. Must be actual tickets used, not just bought.

Good post. Obviously the passion will be down when your team is 2-11 compared to making the playoffs, but to say the fans are awful doesn't take into account the fact the Bengals had 15 awful awful years and an incompetent owner. There are a lot of good Cincinnati fans even if the games aren't sold out.

And, with you being a Browns fan, I find that a weird thing to care about.

    LOL. Nice find.

For those wondering, Cincinnati ranks #22 and Cleveland ranks 26th haha. I guess perception isn't reality for S&L and like_that.

uhhh maybe because Cincy already had its 8 games? lol nice fail.

How about this link for you. It is no "Baltimore Sun," but just proof that 1. that cincy fans suck ass and 2. people outside of cleveland agree. You can find Cincy on the last page by the way, just in case you are looking for them...

Also here are a bunch of other articles just so you can get a better sample of opinions (again, it's no baltimore sun):

The statistic really went over your head. It has nothing to do with gross attendance. It is sorted by how full each home stadium is each week (in a %). Paul Brown Stadium has been 92.1% full on average, while Cleveland Browns Stadium has been 89.9% full on average.

Thus Cleveland is behind one of the "worst" supported franchises in the league (your words). What does that say?
  • jordo212000
As to all the links about "worst" NFL fanbases, who cares? I have never said the Bengals were among the best and it really doesn't affect my life one way or the other. I really do not care where we rank in all honesty, I just know that I am a fan. You guys are the ones trying to rub our noses in to the fact that the Browns fans are "better"

    1. I am sure the percentage will go up after this week.

    2. I didn't realize he sort it by percentage. If you click on the attendance link they automatically sort it by average, which is a better indicator obviously since ESPN uses it by default. By those standards the Browns are at #20, and the Bengals are at #27. Nice fail again.

Keep on trying little guy. Also did you check out my links yet? I believe Cincy fans are in the bottom 5 or close to the bottom 5....

Once again you are the one who mentioned the browns fans first... If you don't care, then why don't you stfu and quit back pedaling?

Edit: Of course you don't "care" about those links, because they are completely out of favor for your argument lol.

smh, the Browns stadium seats almost 10,000 more people. Of course they are going to average more people per game.

The stat that Terry Tate linked here takes into consideration how many people are attending relative to how many seats are available in the stadium. The statistics I posted merely show that on average, Paul Brown Stadium has been closer to being filled to capacity throughout the course of the season.

Through week 16, the "worst" or (worse as you say) fans in the NFL have filled 92.1% of all available seats at Paul Brown Stadium.

One of the "best" fanbases in football have only filled 89.9% of their available seats through week 16.

SMH. Yes i know what the stat meant that terry tate linked. All that stat tells me is Cleveland's stadium is too big for the amount of people in the area, especially considering the fact many people are trying to move out of that area due to the current job market. The fact of the matter is cincy is a more populated area, and they can only get 60,000 per game. That is being generous too as I went to the browns/bengals game at cincy, and it was about 45% browns fans there. So you can thank us cleveland fans for increasing your % to 92. Have the Browns and Bengals trade stadiums and the browns will be near 100% while the piss poor cincy fans will be around 82%. Which brings us back to the main point. There is a reason why the browns have never blacked out since coming back, and cincy does it all the time. Ochocinco can't buy tickets for the fans every time.

I love how you disregard the arguments that blow your idiotic arguments away. Click on every single article i provided to you on the google link, and you will see the browns fans average at #3 and the bengals fans average in the bottom 5. Hmmm i wonder why!?!??!?! There has to be a reason!!!!!!!

Can't wait for your next idiotic response. Are you going to bring up the NBA? Or should I prepare for the fact that Cleveland doesn't show a strong support for soccer?!?

So I call bullshit on your statement.

Did you also happen to look up at the TVs to see that the Bengals weren't on since they were blacked out? How fucking stupid can you be?

Just read this thread for the first time and wanted to make clear that the Browns game had 45,126 people in attendance with just over 65,000 available seats for the game. Not quite half-empty by my math.
