Also, you don't know anything about baseball because the Pirates suck. Since the Pirates have sucked since 1992, that means your IQ about baseball is most likely very terribly low.
Sorry.
The quality of baseball in Pittsburgh has sucked over the past 2 decades, you couldnt possibly know anything about the sport. That is easily the worst franchise in all of pro sports. 18 straight losing seasons? Ouch -

And so do the college (or lack thereof) sports in Pittsburgh. The Panthers are just trash.

This is how sad you guys have become ..resorting to ripping on our Pirates...We all know MLB is corrupt as hell and you have to buy teams these days ... all I do know is Pirates have 5 world titles the Steelers have 6 and the Pens have 2 and I was pulling for your cavs to win one for your town ..What was I thinking..I am for anybody who plays Miami now -

One of your fellow Pittsburgh fans said the Pirates were on the way up. The same guy said in a previous post that Cleveland fans dont know anything about football because of the quality of the product on the field.
We were using his argument against him -
NonWhat I said about the Pirates will prove to be true in the next few years. It can't happen today but just wait and see.
Next year they'll take a little step and then over the next 4-5 years they'll have a competitive stretch.
The Pirates have been terrible but they have a fun group of young players that are going to represent the future.
They're by far the worst team in Pittsburgh but I'm saying even for being the only bad team in town they still have some players now that the fans can enjoy watching while the team grows. -
DA isn't having funThe fans? Lol Pittsburgh has some great fans, but pirates fan they do not have. Every one of my Pittsburgh fans don't even acknowledge the prates' existence. There are no pirates fans.

NonThere's still a lot of Pirates fans most of them are older or they don't live in Pittsburgh to attend games.
And there are some, like you said, who have basically given up. That's understandable.
You hear a lot of people say things like "it's the same thing we hear every year" but in this case I think they have a better foundation than they've had. It's not the same. If they draft Rendon, for example, they're going to end up with a 1-2 punch of Rendon and Alvarez for at least a few years, like 2013-2015, and the other young players like Tabata, McCutchen and Walker will be around until at least 2015 or 2016. They've drafted a lot of pitching the past couple years and also signed Heredia, a talented 16-year-old from Mexico. They're set up now a lot better than they have been. I'm not going to say they'll win the World Series in 2011 but over the next few years they'll be a team that will gradually get better and mature.
