As I said, I'd bet it has a little to do with it. -

tonslawedI've hearing a lot about Newman's crew chief Tony Gibson but didn't know he's from Daytona Beach. This is surprising and great news too.
-
SpeedofsandTony Gibson was part of Alan Kulwicki's Nascar Championship team. His brother Mark was 4 cylinder champ at New Smyrna before that. He raced ARCA and built cars for many others. Their mom Peggy used to manage the ticket office at Daytona Intl Speedway.

coyotes22Was it just me, or was NASCAR trying to protect KB2 and help him get a win in the NNS race Saturday, by telling Harvick that if he even thought of touching KB2, that he would get parked? I think it is over the top when NASCAR starts telling guys to back off of other drivers. Is NASCAR that desperate to have KB2 break records? It is a shame when drivers have to be worried about racing around other guys.
Look, I have been vocal on here before about how I hate to see KB2 win, but, if he does, so be it. Just dont make it obvious that you are trying to help him win, for sake of records. People are always blaming NASCAR of showing bias towards Jr, maybe they do, I dont know. But, after hearing what KH said he was told on his radio Saturday, I have a feeling they are doing it for KB2 as well.
I also think the WTF moment of Sunday's race should go to KB2 and his post-accident interview. All the reporter did was ask him if he thought that the little bit of contact he had with Jr, might have contributed to his tire going flat. You would have thought that Jr wrecked, and the reporter was blaming Kyle. LOL. -
GoChiefsHarvick meant NASCAR told him that after the Darlington incident, not during the Nationwide race. I don't buy it. That was back in May and he's just not saying anything about it? Yeah, right.
-
coyotes22I still think NASCAR has a bigger hard on for KB2 right now, than Jr. And they have every right to. He is def more talented than Jr, and is driving the wheels off of everything he gets in.
Now, has anyone else heard anything about Edwards being the #4 guy in the Gibbs camp? If so, do you think he will bump Lagano from the #20 car, forcing Joey to be put in a new car, with a new sponsor? -
GoChiefsOf course they do, Kyle gets them more publicity.
I'd guess if Edwards does leap to JGR, the new sponsor would dictate who goes where. If the new sponsor will only agree to a deal if Edwards is behind the wheel, then I'd say he will man the 4th team. If the sponsor doesn't care, I'd say Edwards will move to the #20 car. Home Depot is under contract until the end of the 2014 season I believe, so they really don't have any room to really say either way. -
GoChiefsI've also heard that if Red Bull can't find anyone to take over their operation, they might shut down all together and become the primary sponsor of the 4th team at Joe Gibbs Racing.

So, still no news about Mark Martin looking into buying the team? i thought i heard if he could find a partner, he would buy the team. -

Yes, but that doesn't mean Red Bull will stick around as a sponsor. Last I heard, the partner might be Mark Cuban as he has made it no secret that he wants in the business. High profile owner like that will have no problem attracting sponsors. Plus its rumored that if that happens, the team would go to Chevy and be powered by Hendricks engines.
If that were to happen, I doubt you would see Red Bull stay on board as they seem to be pretty devoted to Toyota. -

IDK, their trucks in the NCWS are Bow Ties. I thought that was weird when I saw the race last weekend.GoChiefs;836349 wrote:Yes, but that doesn't mean Red Bull will stick around as a sponsor. Correct, but I do believe they were in trucks as a sponsor before Toyota even came into NASCAR.coyotes22;836351 wrote:IDK, their trucks in the NCWS are Bow Ties. I thought that was weird when I saw the race last weekend. -

I'm not for sure on that though. Just a guess. -
coyotes22No KB2 this weekend in the NNS race, thank GOD!!
Could Reed Sorenson put together a good run, and steal the thunder from Concrete Carl? -
coyotes22Wow, he is not racing the NCWTS either?!?!?!?!!? Is he sick?

j_crazyNASCAR and ESPN have decided it'd be best for the sport and the ratings if KB2 got his 100th win at the brickyard.

Classyposter58The Brickyard Snore-hundred might be the worst race of the year. Honestly it's the only one I've actually fallen asleep watching
