    I want to know too.
BTW Kentucky race was a snoozer imo.
  • GoChiefs
Just do a google search for Paige Duke. And yes, if Kurt & Kyle weren't battling up front, it would have been real boring to watch on TV.

Well, Kentucky's first race was an absolute disaster. You'd expect some hiccups being there first year and all, but damn, it was crazy. A bunch of stuff that could have been avoided that wasn't. Traffic, parking, concessions, it was all a mess, but regardless, we still had a blast. My son, which is the real reason we went, had a great experience for his first live race. Met Michael Waltrip and Kevin Harvick. Also met Rutledge Wood from the SPEED Channel. He's an awesome dude. The SPEED cameraman seen my sons hair (we shaved an 18 in the back of it for the race because he's a Kyle fan) and decided he was going to record it. LOL So he thought that was neat because he might have been on SPEED during Raceday. Had great seats and a great view to watch the race, right behind Pit Road, then to top it off, Kyle wins the race. After the race, he was standing there when the crews were pushing the cars back, and a member from Kyle's crew, Kurt's crew, and Biffle's crew all gave him lug nuts from the race. So he got pretty excited about that. Then we went over to Victory Lane to watch Kyle celebrate. When they were doing in V.L., the crew was pushing Kyle's car back to the hauler, looked over, and seen my son had a Kyle shirt on, so he tossed him one of the M&M's Victory Lane hats. To top it off, he was right beside Kyle while Kyle was walking back to the hauler. Made a 9 year olds weekend, that's for sure. Had a blast.

Anybody take pictures of the traffic jam on the highway? It was a mess years ago for the trucks and Indy cars....as if Bruton (speedway owner) didn't know it was gonna be this bad.

He acts all surprised when it happens. Yea, ok.....

    Thanks!
  • GoChiefs
This is still 4 miles from the track.

  • Speedofsand
Nice pics, glad you were able to get in. Great seats too. Bruton knew parking and traffic were going to be like that. The place was built for 57,000 seats. He knew there weren't enough roads in and out from I-71, this is his way of getting the state to help pay to build new roads. He has a history of that.

Nice pics Chiefs glad ya had a good time.
  • GoChiefs
In light of the traffic situation at Kentucky...

So with Kyle having wins number 98 & 99 in the books, heard an interesting question, if/when he gets 200, is that comparable to Petty's 200? IMO, yes, because the competition today is far better than during Petty's era. In Petty's time, you have 4 or 5 guys that seemed like they could win, where as now, half the field has a chance. I know I'll get the 'but it's Nationwide and Truck Series, not just Sprint.' Which I know, but, there is always at least 10 or so Sprint guys in the Nationwide races, and there is always Sprint guys in the Truck series races as well, so the competition is still there.
