Official 2011 Nascar thread

I haven't been this excited watching a race since I was in Dale Jr's pit last year when he won in the Wrangler #3.
Billy started 4th, settled into 5th, then stalled it leaving his pit during the first caution. Lost at least a dozen spots. Worked his way back up to 7th, then wheel hopped over turn 5 and spun. All 3 Roush cars have been off the track. McDowell in the 18 Toyota is way fast, started P1, and he is knocking people out of his way like Kyle does. Villenueve and Papis owe him a shot. For a 4 mile course this is fun to watch.

damn, engine broke. Billy is heartbroken on tv out of the race. Great effort.

Reed Sorenson just won a Harley. That was a wild crazy finish. Allgaier had it on the last lap, caution out, but he ran out of gas.
Took 3 green white checker attempts to end it.

NASCAR on road courses is really the only NASCAR I can really enjoy.
This has been entertaining, sort of like GT race really. Plus, the different tires was straight out of F-1. Nice stuff.

Where the eff did Jeff Gordon come from? 30 minutes ago I go outside to do yardwork and he's in like 30th 46 seconds back after he just pitted. Now I come in and he's second.

    Skill.
Gordon was the original roadracer back in the day.
Unlike Montoya, who had no patience, Gordon used his skill and patience to make passes.

Of course, I had to work.

    Congrats Go Chiefs.

And look who passed Jr in points. :D. Told ya it wouldn't last coyotes. :p

Oh I know that, lol, I was the biggest Gordon fan from 93 to about 04, when I stopped watching NASCAR like I used to, but he's still my favorite driver. But skill alone doesn't get you past 28 cars in 30 laps and make up 40 seconds. Was there a caution and some guys pitted? That's the only thing I can think of to put him in position to do that. Still an impressive run though cause he was nowhere near the front whenever I looked at the tv.

wow, bad day for Dale Jr. and coyotes. I missed it all, caught a shark and a blue at New Smyrna/Ponce Inlet. Broke my Abu Garcia reel. Saw thousands of hotties in bikinis.

Jr not looking forward to this weekend. Not a fan of the two car hook up.

no pics, wish I had one of the chica in a thong driving a boat though. Most scenery was while I was driving on the beach after fishing.

Kurt ran good in Feb. at Daytona, he might double down in the double duece.

Yep, he always runs well at Daytona. He just can't seem to get the win. He's had 7 Top 10's and 5 Top 5's in the last 8 races there. He pushed Newman to the 500 victory in '08, and he probably would have won it this year if Montoya hadn't fucked up.
  • Speedofsand
He won the shootout, at night.
We've had big storms every day the past week or two. Don't be surprised if they start by points. Friday, New Smyrna Speedway got really torn up from a storm. Telephone poles snapped, several billboards destroyed, some bleacher damage.

Smoke is about ready to choke somebody out Ken Shamrock style.
  • GoChiefs
Smoke is just a whiny ass bitch. Blocking is part of racing. If you don't want blocked, GTFO of NASCAR.
